Il secondo capitolo della saga The Hinokami Chronicles rispetta tutti i requisiti minimi per essere un buon prodotto in grado di coinvolgere i giocatori, in particolare i fan della saga, attraverso una discreta trasposizione della storia originale e combattimenti divertenti e colorati; tuttavia, non riesce a rispettare le aspettative del pubblico: molti – compreso me – avrebbero preferito un'operazione in stile Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Invece, gli sviluppatori hanno deciso di non rischiare e di muoversi su strade già battute e sicure, offrendo un prodotto sufficiente che non innova ma diverte; il sistema di combattimento rimane il suo punto di forza: semplice, dinamico e divertente, leggermente migliorato rispetto al capitolo precedente. In generale, però, nulla di nuovo sotto il sole.

Guardianes de la Noche -Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 se ve favorecido por la inminente llegada de La Fortaleza Infinita. Si bien no se trata de un juego puntero dentro del género, compensa sus costuras con una variedad de modos interesante, un buen puñado de luchadores y, sobre todo, con la posibilidad de hacer un repaso de los eventos más recientes del anime. Una opción apta para aquellos que dedicaron horas a los Naruto Ninja Storm y que no pueden esperar a que llegue el 12 de septiembre (momento de estreno de la primera película de trilogías que concluirán el anime). Un auténtico reto para los más completistas y un viaje lleno de belleza, al igual que la obra original, para los más casuales.

Nell'adattare la formula soulslike che ne aveva fatto le fortune con i due Blasphemous, i ragazzi di The Game Kitchen hanno dimostrato di aver compreso appieno cosa significa sviluppare un Ninja Gaiden in 2D: il loro Ragebound è un videogioco che va goduto a mille all'ora, alternando senza soluzione di continuità gli attacchi con cui fendere le orde nemiche ai salti precisi richiesti da un platforming esigente. L'ottimo abbrivio degli atti iniziali si perde purtroppo in una ripetitività causata dalla mancanza di variazioni, mentre le poche missioni disponibili affidano la longevità del titolo alla voglia del singolo giocatore di ottenere i gradi di valutazione più alti in ogni missione. Come il gameplay anche il level design smette di sorprendere molto presto, rientrando all'interno dei leitmotiv arcinoti al genere senza adattarsi quasi mai ai differenti scenari messi in mostra da un comparto artistico comunque ispirato, il quale sfoggia una grafica in 2D al passo con i tempi oltre a una colonna sonora decisamente azzeccata alla natura frenetica del gameplay.

By building on the original and adapting some of the best arcs from the manga, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is pretty much a must for fans. As far as arena brawler goes, this is one of the better ones, although we still think combat can be a bit flat and woolly at times. But, with a wealth of single player content and so many characters to choose from, this is a worthy sequel to an already solid game.

N’ayez pas peur de vous frotter à ce Ninja Gaiden imaginé par The Game Kitchen. Si le nom de la licence peut faire trembler, Ragebound a plus d’un talisman dans son sac pour que tous les joueurs y trouvent du plaisir, du jeune Genin courageux au Jônin invincible. Très plaisant à jouer, à la fois technique et fun, il est un pur plaisir arcade comme on n’en voit que rarement. Avec un petit peu plus d’inventivité dans son level design et certaines idées mieux exploitées, il aurait atteint le rang convoité de Maître Ninja. Ryu peut en tout cas être fier de Kenji, son poulain a très bien défendu la baraque en son absence.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a good arena fighter, and a noted improvement over its predecessor, but it’s not a sea change. I’m not over the moon about the inclusion of gear, I yearn for better teaching tools, and I wish there was more to The Path of the Demon Slayer. But the Story Mode is compelling, the fighting still has the juice, and I’m a big fan of the expanded roster, smart if subtle gameplay changes, and roguelike Hashira Training mode. The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a worthy sequel to a good game, and a good game itself. I just hope we don’t have to wait another four years for a sequel.

Avec Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2, CyberConnect 2 n’a jamais vraiment eu l’intention de changer sa formule, ne serait-ce même que de l’améliorer. Cette suite marche dans les pas du premier jeu en proposant peu ou prou le même squelette, si ce n’est que le contenu est cette fois-ci un peu plus généreux. Le niveau des arena fighters est aujourd’hui si bas que ce second jeu n’a évidemment aucun mal à se hisser en haut du panier, ne serait-ce que parce que la réalisation est au rendez-vous en plus d’offrir des affrontements accessibles et immédiatement amusants. Mais voyons aussi Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 pour ce qu’il est, à savoir un produit promotionnel de luxe qui vient se caler dans la période de sortie du film La Forteresse Infinie pour conclure une stratégie crossmédia un peu facile (comme l’était le premier jeu avec la saison 2 de l’anime). Comme d’habitude, les amoureux du manga s’en contenteront, les autres s’en passeront.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 è un sequel estremamente conservativo, e di conseguenza ha ereditato sia i più grandi pregi del proprio predecessore che alcune delle sue principali lacune. Difatti, nonostante le simpatiche trovate escogitate da CyberConnect2 per diversificare un minimo le fasi esplorative, le sequenze free roaming offerte dalla Modalità Storia appaiono ancora scialbe e noiosette. Avendo già a disposizione un sistema di combattimento solido e molto tecnico, soprattutto per un arena fighter, lo studio di Fukuoka si è quindi concentrato sulla componente contenutistica, dotando finalmente il prodotto di un roster di tutto rispetto e di sfiziose modalità che arricchiscono l’offerta. In mezzo ai tanti, mediocri tie-in che nelle ultime settimane hanno invaso il mercato, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 è in definitiva una gemma imperfetta con cui qualsiasi appassionato del genere e della licenza dovrebbe assolutamente cimentarsi.

Está claro que Las crónicas de Hinokami 2 es una clara mejora del primer juego de lucha basado en Kimetsu no Yaiba, aunque sigue teniendo leves problemas en rendimiento y diseño. Sin embargo, es un buen juego para fans de la serie, aunque es el que debería haberse lanzado en 2021.
