Trine has been available on the PC a number of weeks before its PS3 counterpart ever appeared. For whatever the reason of the delay, the game recently appeared on the PlayStation store with a high price tag for downloadable game. But is the game worth the cost, or is it just another passable addition in downloadable games?

RPG’s are somewhat neglected on the Xbox 360 in my eyes. The console is dominated by FPS and action games so when I heard that Risen was hitting the Xbox, I got pretty excited. It’s fair to say that RPG’s are my genre. A good story and engaging game play will grab me hook, line and sinker.

The sci-fi shooter has been done a number of times in a number of ways - and arguably there are an abundance of new possibilities within the sci-fi genre that will continue to spawn many more. Section 8 has a variety of new ideas implemented that make it stand out from the crowd, but is it worthy of the attention or is it just another generic space shooter?

The King of Fighters is a long standing series spawning many sequels and remakes, I recently played the ported versions of the games on the PSP and thoroughly enjoyed them, so I was interested to see how the series had progressed with the new instalment, The King of Fighters XII.

It's hard to put your finger on just what Star Trek: DAC was trying to achieve as a game, as it could quite simply be any generic space shooter. In essence, Shatter takes an existing gameplay design - one that has seen many a remake - and adds a fun little spin to it. A downloadable game off the PlayStation Store, Shatter provides little in the way of complex gameplay or epic storylines. What it does have, however, is an abundance of innovative fun.

The Nintendo Wii - one of the best selling consoles of all time, the most original console of all time and the console that surprises us with game releases month after month. Let's Tap - a game made by Sega, a game nobody has heard of and a game that offers yet another original way of playing games. Mix the two together and you have an awesome combination.

Resurrecting a much-loved series of games is a difficult and controversial task. The Monkey Island games are indisputably some of the best point-and-click titles ever created, blending humour and adventure together seamlessly. So, after a 9 year hiatus the news of a new episodic entry had me excited but apprehensive.

Very rarely do you come across a game that looks so bizarre, so strange and so fun that despite its eccentricity you expect you'll enjoy the game. Game trailers can do a lot to persuade you into purchasing a game, and Stalin vs. Martians will be no different. The only problem is when you come to play it, and realise just how much a waste of time, effort and money the whole experience is.

If you can ignore these technical problems then Point Lookout is a great experience. Immersing yourself in the new location is easy and there is plenty to explore and investigate with some satisfying new content thrown in. During my time in the swamps I brewed Moonshine, decapitated more insane hillbillies than I could count and even ended up finding a horribly mutated dancing bear. If that doesn't sound even remotely appealing, then it's probably one to avoid. For everyone else grab your lever-action rifle and get shooting some inbred psychopaths.

Virtua Tennis 2009 is a hard game to recommend. It has its good share of positives and negatives but in the end, if you want to buy a tennis game, you won't look any further than the Sega title. This is a game that you would probably play for a couple hours, a week tops, before it will get way too tedious. A great game for some, but a nightmare for others.

Velvet Assassin lets you take control of British spy Violette Summer, tasked to disrupt Axis operations and assassinate high ranking officers; utilising your wits, cunning and liberal use of the shadows to take down the German forces swiftly, silently. On paper, this sounds like a very intriguing title while in theory, however, it falls short of the mark.

The main goal of every fighting game is to beat your opponent, but never before has it been done in such style as in UFC Undisputed 2009. There are a multitude of different stances and positions you can beat your opponent from and it's this diversity that makes it more than a simple brawler where you just hit your opponent in the head until he falls over.
