Ever Oasis isn’t just a brilliant adventure, it’s also one that’s come at the right place and the right time. For 3DS RPG fans, who’ve had an unthinkably rich array of JRPG greats to choose from over the system’s lifespan, Ever Oasis is a nice reminder that there’s still plenty of room for innovation on the six-year-old handheld. Its addictive main gameplay loop, fun combat, amazing (and truly different) sense of style, and kindhearted nature make it feel like nothing else; though it reminds us of Rune Factory 4, Animal Crossing, Tri Force Heroes, and Final Fantasy Explorers in turn, this really is its own experience, and one we’d recommend to any action-RPG aficionado.

Ever Oasis offers a surprising amount of content in a fun, accessible game. Challenging yet forgiving battle mechanics mean that beginners can hack and slash away, while masters can focus on strategy and speed running. A diverse cast of characters with numerous abilities encourages playing with diverse parties, and the warp system enables lots exploration, creating replayability while making long slogs across maps a thing of the past. Easy to pick up, hard to put down, and overflowing with features, Ever Oasis really is a diamond in the desert.

Ever Oasis propose quelque chose de très honnête pour les joueurs de 3DS qui veulent un RPG polyvalent et plaisant à jouer. De la gestion, des combats, des énigmes, il y a un peu de tout même si rien ne se démarque vraiment. Toutefois ce mélange, en plus du message positif (certains diront naïf), donne un résultat plus que satisfaisant. Une bonne pioche pour la console portable de Nintendo qui n’a pas trop de soft de cette envergure ces temps-ci.

A pesar de que pueda resultar más sencillo comparado con títulos como Fantasy Life y de que las misiones puedan llegar a resultar repetitivas en cierto punto, merece la pena darle una oportunidad a esta nueva IP de Nintendo.

In Ever Oasis you’re trying to make your oasis grow, and as you do, so does your strength, and your relationships. It’s a straight-forward, simple action RPG that takes some inspirations from Harvest Moon and The Legend of Zelda, but none of those are a bad thing. Ever Oasis feels distinct and unique enough to be its own, strong title – if you haven’t abandoned your 3DS for the Switch yet, Ever Oasis is yet another great 3DS game.

In Ever Oasis, melding a city-builder with a hack and slash adventure has never looked more adorable. While visually and narratively enticing, the Animal Crossing meets Zelda concept is never fully satisfying, instead giving brief joy to specific types of players, and begging for a sequel to bring every genre together perfectly.

Ever Oasis è un titolo per certi versi inaspettato. Coraggioso, potremmo dire. E non solo per il fatto che arriva nei negozi in un periodo particolare. Una nuova proprietà intellettuale, su un hardware che ci ha dato tanto ma che, ormai, in molti lo danno verso il viale del tramonto. Grezzo e Koichi Ishii provano a raccontarci una fiaba dai tratti delicati, quasi evanescenti, asservita a un gameplay dall'anima bifronte, eppure mai in conflitto. La fase gestionale dedicata alla nostra Oasi si rivela sicuramente la parte più riuscita del titolo: profonda, sfaccettata e davvero assuefacente. A far da contraltare, però, ci pensa la parte più propriamente ruolistica, che i veterani troveranno forse troppo leggera e poco variegata, nonostante il l'ottimo lavoro svolto nel design dei dungeon e nello studio degli enigmi ambientali. Forse non tutti sanno che il nome del team, Grezzo, deriva dall'espressione italiana "diamante grezzo". Ecco, Ever Oasis può essere riassunto in questo modo. La nuova IP firmata dal talentuoso team supervisionato da Koichi Ishii possiede già molte qualità nascoste da diverse incertezze, ma ha tutte le potenzialità per crescere e migliorare ancora. Basta solo farle germogliare.

En bon action-RPG, Ever Oasis vous fait vivre une belle aventure égyptienne très agréable, et ce malgré ce qui est à la fois son originalité mais aussi son gros point noir : la gestion. Vengez votre frère, combattez monstres et autres créatures plus mignonnes les unes que les autres, et surtout tenez bon, débloquez une ou deux améliorations, et le jeu se révélera être un bijou certes un peu simple, mais beau, scintillant comme le sable sous la lumière lunaire.

Ever Oasis cumple con lo que prometía aunque lo hace a medio fuelle. A pesar de su excelente diseño artístico y del buen diseño en sus mazmorras termina convirtiéndose en un tedioso juego en el que la trama avanza a trompicones y se nos fuerza a gestionar en exceso nuestra base para poder seguir avanzando. A pesar de esto puede ser una buena elección para llenar muchas horas muertas durante el verano.

Sebbene non sia il gioco che più serva, oggi come oggi, alla libreria del 3DS, Ever Oasis si dimostra uno sforzo meritevole e rispettabile nonché un primo interessante sguardo all'operato di Grezzo quando si tratta di lavorare su un proprio titolo. Per chi cerca un'esperienza con cui passare il tempo sotto l'ombrellone, un GdR che lo tenga occupato nelle ore più calde, questa potrebbe però non essere la scelta migliore. Ever Oasis ha alcune carenze che gli impediscono di affiancare l'attuale concorrenza che la console portatile della grande N ha da proporre. A un comparto gestionale molto ben costruito e impegnativo si affianca un GdR spento, sottotono nelle sue meccaniche, troppo semplice persino per il target al quale si vuole rivolgere. Dal punto di vista narrativo il gioco non propone niente di nuovo ma si racconta bene, complice una grafica accattivante grazie alla quale ci ritroviamo a vivere l'eterna lotta fra Bene e Male sotto un'ottica un po' diversa e più fiabesca. Se siete appassionati del genere vale il tentativo, in caso contrario potreste voler guardare altrove.

Ever Oasis is enjoyable, has excellent pacing, and boasts an interesting story. If you’re a fan of town management games or are simply looking for a good puzzle RPG, you’ll probably like this title. Never did town management feel like a chore, though it did start to stress me out near the end. Something about the rhythm of both adventuring and managing your Oasis had me so engrossed that I would blink and suddenly hours had passed. The Puzzle RPG and Town Management mix is a unique one, and Grezzo pulls it off fairly well, though there is definitely room for improvement here. Everything on the table feels well thought out — if only a little shallow.

Autant jeu de gestion que A-RPG, Ever Oasis offre un cadre dépaysant inspiré de l’Egype Antique, vraiment réussi. Son aspect mimi et son concept général fait mouche d’entrée, malgré une forme de linéarité pendant les premières heures. Si la suite est un poil plus permissive, l’ensemble est toutefois répétitif à la longue alors que la gestion de l’équipement et des alliés en donjon manque de finesse. Le titre reste agréable à jouer surtout pour les néophytes des deux genres et même s’il essuie les plâtres, Ever Oasis est typiquement le genre de jeu qui peut faire évoluer son concept et corriger ses petites erreurs dans une suite. Encourageant.
