Thank Goodness You’re Here is a wonderful little indie game that punches higher than it should. The comedic dialogue will have you rolling, and the art style is to die for. A lackluster story and shallow gameplay could drag it down, but somehow work perfectly for the game Panic has created. Know your medium, and good things will come of it.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Dopo l'esordio su PC, Darkest Dungeon 2 arriva su console segnando il ritorno di uno dei roguelike più interessanti del panorama indipendente. Red Hook Studios non si accontenta tuttavia di migliorare le ottime basi del primo capitolo, bensì ne prende le migliori caratteristiche per rivoluzionarne altre mettendoci alle redini di una carovana impegnata in un vero e proprio viaggio della speranza tra tenebre e dannazione. Il risultato finale, benché di altissimo livello, deve fare tuttavia i conti con una difficoltà elevata, un importante grado di casualità ed un mare quasi infinito di possibilità tattiche tra oggetti, status alterati e molto altro. Una sommatoria di elementi che lo rendono, paradossalmente, meno accessibile del predecessore e forse anche meno godibile. Per tutti coloro che non si spaventano di un'esperienza ruvida, complessa ed impegnativa, qui troverete pane per i vostri denti. A fantastic 2D shooter, that despite being the developer’s first game shows they understand the genre perfectly – but perhaps not the needs of those that are less familiar with its traditions.

If you appreciate the kind of retina-searing, adrenaline-emitting action found in intense bullet hell shooters, there’s a strong chance you’ll get hooked by CYGNI: All Guns Blazing. Sure, it can be unflinchingly tough, demanding your complete attention for each of its fifteen-minute-long stages. But the thrill of dangling from the precipice of survival as you struggle against swarms of enemies makes CYGNI indispensable for shooter junkies.

CYGNI All Guns Blazing non è il classico "shmup" ma, al netto di un impianto visivo convincente e di alcune idee di gameplay riuscite, si tratta di un prodotto che difficilmente diventerà il nuovo punto di riferimento per i puristi del genere e farà altrettanta fatica a coinvolgere quella fetta di pubblico non abituata agli sparatutto a scorrimento verticale, a causa di menu intricati e di un livello di difficoltà mal calibrato e poco personalizzabile. In ogni caso, è arrivata come un fulmine a ciel sereno la notizia dell’approdo del gioco in forma gratuita su Epic Games Store per un periodo di tempo limitato, così da permettere ai curiosi di aggiungerlo alla loro collezione e dargli un’opportunità a prescindere.

What can I say? SteamWorld games don’t miss (with me at least) and SteamWorld Heist II is no exception. This is a special treat for the Xbox ecosystem, as this is our first foray into SteamWorld’s take on the tactical strategy genre. Thunderful have made another game to show and help gamers how to branch out into other types of genres that they may normally not play. If you like this universe but do not typically like this type of game (or don’t know if you do), I would still implore you to give it a chance.
