Rise of the Ronin is a case where more isn't always better. It's got varied and challenging combat, a wealth of content, and a wide variety of mechanics in a story that spans over a decade. But while most of the individual components work, many feel unrefined, and their sheer volume doesn't elevate the experience.

Rise of the Ronin è un gioco che, almeno sotto certi aspetti, va incontrato a metà strada. Il nuovo action RPG di Team Ninja vanta una mole impressionante di contenuti, e può contare su un sistema di combattimento ben congegnato e una storia che mette in mostra una maturità mai raggiunta prima dallo studio giapponese, mai stellare, ma comunque ben scritta e godibile dall'inizio alla fine. È un gioco che non reinventa nulla, a volte un po' ingenuo, e che soffre a causa di qualche problema tecnico di troppo, ma anche realizzato da un team che, nel corso dei nove anni di sviluppo che hanno preceduto la pubblicazione, è chiaramente cresciuto, tanto da realizzare un'esperienza che si vive meglio di come si racconta. Rise of the Ronin non spodesta Nioh 2 dal trono che sovrasta ogni altri gioco realizzato da Team Ninja, né verrà ricordato per la sua grafica o la struttura del suo mondo di gioco, ma è comunque in grado di offrire tante ore di divertimento, senza eccessivi compromessi.

Rise of the Ronin è figlio della volontà del Team Ninja di evolvere la sua formula a base d'azione pura attraverso una struttura a mondo aperto: al cuore i grandi punti di forza sono rimasti gli stessi di sempre, ma il cambio di paradigma non ha portato i benefici sperati. Il sistema di combattimento è infatti un amalgama profondo, stratificato e accessibile che trasmette ottime sensazioni, per certi versi simili a quelle di un picchiaduro, ma la cornice in cui è collocato non riesce mai davvero a mettersi al suo servizio. La costruzione del mondo di gioco è classica, le attività sono molto semplici, il comparto grafico e l'esecuzione tecnica non sono assolutamente al passo coi tempi, mentre l'ambientazione storica è interessantissima, ma finisce per limitare scenografia e design estetico. Insomma, i combattimenti di Rise of the Ronin sono una goduria imperdibile per gli appassionati del genere, non stancano mai e sanno regalare grandi soddisfazioni, ma sono costretti a reggere sulle proprie spalle tutto il peso di un'opera che, in quasi tutte le altre componenti, rema nella direzione opposta.

Rise of the Ronin isn't a bad game; it's something debatably worse: completely forgettable. With dated open world design and a monotonous narrative, the cracking combat of a Team Ninja title is left to try and pick up the pieces. It manages to get the title in acceptable shape, and with its Bonds system and culture clash, just about forms an experience one could enjoy. Where it falls apart is the fact the open world is so intrinsically linked to all these features and mechanics that it's impossible to find pleasure in them for any respectable length of time. Rise of the Ronin is designed to attract a wider audience than Team Ninja titles past; what they find might put them off for good.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 ne manquera pas de diviser les avis, mais si vous êtes à la recherche d’un AAA qui ne ressemble à aucun autre, on ne peut que fortement vous le recommander. Il s’inscrit dans la lignée de ces titres atypiques et ambitieux qui repoussent les limites du RPG grâce à leur originalité, à l’instar d’Elden Ring ou de Baldur’s Gate 3. Malgré quelques soucis et frustrations, il va vous faire vivre une aventure riche et enivrante. Sa prise en main peut s’avérer ardue, mais c’est précisément cette complexité qui le rend aussi stimulant et gratifiant. Après Monster Hunter World, Capcom signe là un grand jeu qui va surement permettre à la licence de prendre sa revanche.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is more closely aligned with Kirby and Yoshi’s simple, cheery romps rather than Mario’s polished platformers and Luigi’s haunted mansions. There’s fun to be found in the Sparkle Theater, as these delightfully simplified takes on some of gaming’s most popular genres are entertaining to blast through, and the whimsical stage play aesthetic gives Peach’s game an identity all its own. I’m also thrilled that Nintendo is finally giving Peach another crack at her own solo outing after nearly two decades, and I hope this is the start of an ongoing spinoff series within the wider Mario universe. Some noticeable performance issues and the frustrating lack of a chapter select means I won’t be returning for an encore, and I wish there were a few extra levels to lengthen the somewhat brief campaign, but Nintendo and Princess Peach at least know how to put on a good show.

MLB The Show 24 si afferma come uno dei più eccellenti simulatori sportivi prodotti. Questa edizione è riconosciuta per il suo alto grado di autenticità e precisione. Attraverso una serie di dettagli minuziosi, sia visivi che tecnici, l’atto di battere, lanciare o catturare una palla da baseball sembra veramente come se ci trovassimo in campo. L’equilibrio ideale tra intrattenimento e conoscenza sportiva offre non solo momenti di relax ma anche l’opportunità di esplorare la storia del baseball, sia antica che moderna, e di rivivere gli eventi chiave della sua evoluzione e popolarità. Anche se i tempi di caricamento sono sensibilmente prolungati e le innovazioni rispetto al capitolo precedente sono limitate, il piacere di giocare è garantito, sia in singolo che in multiplayer. Con le sue numerose possibilità di personalizzazione, si dimostra un titolo che si conforma a qualsiasi tipo di giocatore. Ancora una volta, uno dei suoi maggiori pregi è la diversità dell’offerta ludica che propone. Si narra che ci siano due categorie di persone: quelle che adorano il baseball e quelle che non lo comprendono. Con MLB The Show 24, siamo convinti che il baseball possa trasformarsi in uno sport entusiasmante per chiunque.

u final, Rise of the Ronin n’est sans doute pas le jeu d’action-aventure au Japon que tout le monde attend, mais c’est une expérience solide et qui a plus d’un tour dans son sac. Les combats sont réussis (et s’appuient sur une richesse assez dingue), l’exploration n’est pas très organique mais reste agréable, et la Team Ninja exploite bien la période “Bakumatsu”, en particulier dans son écriture… Malgré tout, on reste sur notre faim, notamment à cause de niveaux à la Nioh qui ont du mal à nous faire vivre les enjeux à l'œuvre ! Le studio mise avant tout sur ses acquis, se prend même les pieds dans le tapis dans sa quête d’équilibre entre exigence et accessibilité. Rise of the Ronin reste, cependant, une bonne expérience.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile punta a diventare il migliore sparatutto disponibile su iOS e Android e si presenta al lancio con un impianto già solidissimo, tanto sul fronte del gameplay quanto su quello delle modalità e dei contenuti. Verdansk, i 120 giocatori contemporanei, le playlist multiplayer, la cross-progression e il supporto per il controller si pongono come caratteristiche entusiasmanti, sebbene al momento ci siano diversi spigoli da smussare: una sfida non da poco per Activision, ma la strada è lunga e il potenziale evidentissimo.
