The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories è un titolo particolarissimo, come il suo autore ci ha ormai da sempre abituati. La volontà di scavare nell'animo umano e nella forza dei rapporti, in grado di superare anche il dolore fisico, è un elemento talmente riuscito da generare a volte qualche brivido e capace di far chiudere un occhio su una produzione dai limiti tecnici indubbi. Se siete appassionati del lavoro di Swery, difficilmente vi troverete insoddisfatti alla fine dell'avventura, nonostante un prezzo non certamente onesto, soprattutto in rapporto alla durata e alle possibilità quasi nulle di rigiocabilità. Per tutti gli altri resterà un discreto puzzle game, meno riuscito di altri, ma comunque interessante nella sua meccanica chiave, originale e ben amalgamata al gameplay.

It likely won’t garner the longevity of something a kin to Deadly Premonition, but there’s no denying Swery’s fluency with a whole host of tones, on both gameplay and story — not to mention his ability in using the surreal to portray a real and hard-hitting theme of young love — shines through in a sufficient capacity, despite the numerous rough edges. The Missing: J.J. Macfield and The Island of Memories does in the end succeed in telling an intriguing tale complimented with effective and palpable means of progressing it. It doesn’t always find the right way to present it, but as odd a pitch this masochistic, self-inflicted series of mechanics in a puzzle-platformer might seem, it’s no surprise that Swery and developer White Owls are the ones to not only make it work, but convince its players more so to see this human and engaging tale through to the very end.

Although Sony seems to want to put the much-loved portable behind them, Fast Striker shows the system just won’t go out easy. Here’s a swan song with a speedy pace, screens filled with bullets, and a variety of play modes that feels like it was conceived before the Vita was manufactured.

Warriors Orochi 4 is like a dream Musou game: matching up the two largest rosters from Omega Force, but like a dream, can at times be pointless or without direction.

SoulCalibur 6 is a brilliant return to form for the series, combining a robust single-player campaign and intense, dynamic combat to bring the franchise to a level it hasn’t been at in years. The barrier for entry might be somewhat high, but it makes the feeling of clearing it all the greater. I’m interested in seeing where the series goes from here — assuming it’s going anywhere at all. The story is rebooted and already has connections to both 2 and 3; so will the next hypothetical game skip those events and head straight to 4’s, go in order again or tell a new story altogether? The past is great and all, but after seeing what was done here, I can’t help but feel excited about what comes next.

In sostanza, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise è attualmente la migliore esperienza videoludica ispirata a Hokuto no Ken. Nonostante una trama poco intrigante, il gameplay compensa alle mancanze del titolo, questo grazie anche alla forte presenza di attività e contenuti secondari che sono un marchio di fabbrica di Yakuza Studio. I fan dell'opera di Buronson e Tetsuo Hara non possono farsi sfuggire questa produzione nonostante le problematiche sopracitate.

Warriors Orochi 4 has a lot going for it, but its sheer lack of difficulty is hard to overlook when taking its widely interesting gameplay mechanics into account. Still, with its needless simplicity to the side, the game delivers on its promise to be the most fun and diverse entry in the series so far. Furthermore, in contrast to Dynasty Warriors 9’s launch, Warriors Orochi 4’s technical performance is top-notch.

Après un premier épisode très oubliable, Saber Interactive a su revoir sa copie et revient avec un jeu de basket vraiment rigolo. Le gameplay a gagné en équilibre et les parties en rythme, en intensité mais aussi en variété. Jouer contre des joueurs humains, mais aussi contre l'IA, est donc un véritable plaisir. En revanche, difficile de ne pas lever un sourcil lorsque l'on constate le prix des boosters de cartes permettant d'accueillir plus de joueurs, ou la frugalité du menu principal, qui a bien peu de choses à offrir aux gamers. Reste un jeu de basket hyper arcade qui saura amuser fans et profanes, le genre de titre qui fait un ravage lors des soirées entre amis.
