Once you've given Full Metal Schoolgirl a couple runs, you've pretty much seen it all. There are decent ideas with potential that meld the shooter genre and roguelike framework well – it's unfortunate that they get squandered by foundational shortcomings. Whether it be a misunderstanding of what makes the genre work or an intentionally derivative take on roguelike games, the loop it creates is woefully repetitive with boring level design. Although I found some mindless fun since its fundamental gameplay is decent and shines a bit brighter towards the very end, it's certainly not good enough to redeem this monotonous shooter. The anime-inspired charm wears thin as its tropes quickly become annoying, even if its premise shows promise. I got into a groove in its final hour as I ascended the last floors with gear and upgrades that were fun to use, but the climb to get there wasn't exactly worth the slog.

Sin dejar de ser continuista, Tormented Souls 2 logra refinar su profundo y sincero homenaje a los grandes survival horror clásicos. Por momentos, no habría estado mal ver algo más de su propia cosecha, pero lo que hace tiene gusto y calidad suficientes como para establecerse como un juego capaz de ganarse a los fans más nostálgicos.

Potrebbe non sembrare, ma il senso di soddisfazione che emerge dal rimuovere lo sporco con un rapido passaggio di acqua ad alta pressione è una cosa che accomuna molti esseri umani. Con un gameplay basato su questo principio quasi istintivo, Powerwash Simulator 2 gioca sul sicuro, affidandosi alle stesse caratteristiche che hanno portato al successo il primo capitolo, limitandosi ad ampliare gli strumenti utilizzabili e ad aggiungere alcuni importanti miglioramenti in ambito di qualità della vita. Ne viene fuori un'evoluzione estremamente organica dell'originale, con variazioni marginali, ma che contribuiscono a perfezionare l'esperienza in un vero e proprio "more of the same". Se vi è piaciuto il primo, qui ci sono altri 38 livelli da ripulire, ma anche i più scettici non dovrebbero sottovalutare la goduria che deriva da una passata di idropulitrice.

he original PowerWash Simulator was my go-to chill out game for the longest time, and I’ve no doubt PowerWash Simulator 2 will fill that some role for quite a while. But this go around I’m also much more drawn to playing it like, well, a video game. There’s just enough new depth here to tease out a bit of strategy and self-imposed challenge, and I’ve enjoyed rising to it – especially when there’s a scissor lift handy.

FULL METAL SCHOOLGIRL is an outrageous mix of satire and spectacle, where cyborg schoolgirls demolish office culture one cubicle at a time. It’s can be rough around the edges and proudly so, making it a chaotic, stylish throwback that proves Yuke’s still knows how to make mayhem fun.

The Lonesome Guild è molto più di un semplice cambio di genere per Tiny Bull Studios; è un viaggio dal sapore dolceamaro che, pur ammantando ogni cosa di un'estetica confortevole e di colori squillanti, non ha paura di affrontare, con delicatezza e serietà, il peso della solitudine e la complessità delle relazioni umane (o, in questo caso, "animali"). Il cuore pulsante dell'esperienza risiede nella sua narrazione e nell'intelligente intreccio tra la progressione emotiva e quella delle abilità di combattimento. Vedere i Prescelti aprirsi attorno al falò e crescere in battaglia grazie ai legami creati è la vera ricompensa del gioco. Tuttavia, non è un'Ascensione priva di qualche asperità: sebbene il sistema di combattimento funzioni bene nel suo incoraggiare la sinergia e la schivata, risulta un po' troppo semplice nelle fasi iniziali, pur recuperando terreno con la sfida del non poter curarsi con gli oggetti. Allo stesso modo, l'approccio alla mappa fissa, nonostante in linea con la volontà di spingere il giocatore a mettere la testa nell'esplorazione, genera più che altro un fastidio logistico, soprattutto durante le missioni secondarie. Nel complesso, questi sono piccoli difetti che non minano la solida qualità del pacchetto finale: The Lonesome Guild è un Action-RPG sincero e misurato che trova la sua forza nell'equilibrio tra azione, enigmi e, soprattutto, i personaggi. È un titolo che sa emozionare, divertire e far riflettere, lasciando nel cuore la calda sensazione che, dopotutto, nessuno di noi è davvero solo.

The Lonesome Guild est un jeu mignon qui aborde des sujets plus sérieux. Sa direction artistique permet de séduire séduire un large public et le rend immédiatement attractif. Le gameplay est simple et efficace, reprenant les codes de l’ARPG tout en y ajoutant une dimension relationnelle liée aux compétences. Néanmoins, il semble avoir du mal à se positionner sur le plan de la mise en scène. Oscillant entre cinématiques et plans fixes, il peine à faire ressortir les émotions qu’il souhaite transmettre. Il ne conviendra pas non plus aux joueurs en quête de nouveauté ou de challenge dans le hack’n’slash, tant il reste très (voire trop) facile, même en mode difficile.

As a sequel, The Outer Worlds 2 doesn't strive to reinvent its past foundation and does little to stand out in the RPG genre. If you're looking for new toys to play with, you'll find plenty of weapons and a much-improved gunplay to boot. Just don't expect to carry many memories of your time in Arcadia with you.

The Outer Worlds 2 non è un gioco perfetto, ha ancora ampi margini di miglioramento in diversi comparti (da quello tecnico all'intelligenza artificiale nemica), e si dimostra poco coraggioso nel ripercorrere quasi pedissequamente le orme del suo predecessore. Eppure, nelle oltre cinquanta ore dedicate al gioco, non solo non ci siamo mai annoiati, ma, anzi, ne abbiamo apprezzato l'ottima scrittura, il world building, l'ampia libertà di scelta lasciata al giocatore, le abbondanti dosi di sarcasmo e, più in generale, i miglioramenti incrementali rispetto al capostipite. Siamo dinanzi ad un gioco di ruolo che prova ad ammantare di modernità i principi cardine dei vecchi CRPG, e già solo per questo il team di sviluppo andrebbe preservato come una specie in via d'estinzione, insieme ai ragazzi di Larian Studios. Sebbene non siamo vicini ai livelli di eccellenza raggiunti con Baldur's Gate III, allora, gli appassionati di genere troveranno pane per i loro denti nell'ultima, stravagante avventura firmata Obsidian.

The Outer Worlds 2 doesn’t try to rewrite Obsidian’s RPG playbook, but it’s yet another strong refinement, with smoother combat, diabolically compelling buildcrafting and loot, and a story that immediately made me want to start again to see an alternate outcome. The sluggish first act and lack of enemy variety make it a bit of a slog at certain times, but once its story of political intrigue kicks in and the new flaws and perks system gets its claws in you, it can be quite hard to put down. All these improvements put The Outer Worlds 2 that much closer to being the Fallout: New Vegas successor we hoped this series would be, and that’s worth getting excited about.

Est-ce qu’Outer Worlds 2 fait mieux que le premier épisode ? La réponse est oui, et sur presque tous les plans, mais non sans quelques lourdeurs. Plus beau, plus vaste, plus drôle et plus malin, il se révèle aussi plus long et plus dense… au point de parfois s’essouffler, perdant un peu de son mordant et de sa fraîcheur à mesure que l’aventure avance. La faute à une recette éculée qui a peut-être fait son temps. Toujours est-il que si vous aimez rembarrer des PNJ innocents, looter des objets à n’en plus finir, et que la boucle de gameplay répétitive ne vous rebute pas, alors vous êtes parti pour une aventure bien ficelée et diablement plaisante qui vous tiendra en haleine une bonne cinquantaine d’heures.
