La nuova edizione di Castle of Heart porta il titolo del 2018 fuori dall’esclusiva Switch e lo rinnova profondamente. Il cavaliere Svaran, maledetto e in lenta trasformazione in pietra, deve salvare la sacerdotessa Mira dal malvagio stregone servitore di Chernobog. Il gioco si basa su un platform d’azione 2D con una meccanica unica: la disintegrazione del corpo se non si combatte di continuo. Le ambientazioni slavo-mitologiche regalano un’atmosfera cupa e originale. Le armi disponibili sono varie e offrono approcci diversi agli scontri. Il comparto tecnico è stato rivisto: nuove animazioni, illuminazione migliorata e colonna sonora remixata. Il gameplay è più fluido rispetto all’originale, anche se resta un po’ rigido. La narrazione è stata completamente riscritta, con cutscene rifatte e finali multipli. Permangono difetti legati al platforming poco preciso e alla ripetitività musicale. In definitiva, un titolo affascinante, non perfetto, ma degno di attenzione per gli amanti del genere.

I’m terribly ashamed to admit it, but I’ve never read the original Death on the Nile novel. I will get around to it someday, but in the meantime I was very happy to play through this interactive and embellished version of the story. For those who have read it or seen the various movie adaptations, the addition of Jane should add some much-needed novelty, and the two storylines of Jane and Poirot intertwine masterfully and even lead to an epilogue I didn’t see coming but made perfect sense. There seems to be a lot more to do here than on the Orient Express – perhaps even a bit too much that doesn’t really seem relevant to the story. And yet I was captivated by the setting and scenery, and really liked searching around for clues and elusive collectibles, as well as questioning people and trying to figure out their secrets. I’m very much a fan of these Poirot games, so I hope that if there’s another, Microids remembers that solving a murder with one of literary fiction’s greatest detectives is interesting enough without a boatful of diversions.

Digimon Story Time Stranger non è perfetto, ma è davvero il capitolo in cui si è osato di più all'interno del franchise ad oggi, sia dal punto di vista contenutistico che a livello di profondità delle meccaniche di gioco. Ha da offrire una narrazione intrigante, un'ottima longevità, la possibilità di conoscere e collezionare più di quattrocento Digimon (alcuni dei quali possono anche essere cavalcati), il tutto mentre si esplorano, in momenti alternati, il mondo reale e quello digitale. Però è innegabile che non sia un titolo perfetto. Dal punto di vista tecnico, nonostante le rifiniture e il colpo d'occhio generale, è evidente in ogni momento la sua nascita all'interno di un progetto di vecchia generazione. Inoltre, al di là di tutte le innovazioni cercate e inserite, l'esplorazione dei dungeon resta tutto sommato statica e ripetitiva, e i combattimenti non raggiungono quei livelli di profondità che si era sperato (anche se, comunque, sono più tecnici rispetto al passato). C'è, insomma, ancora da fare; la via, però, è quella giusta. "Tutti uniti", allora, "tutti per i Digimon" - come suggeriva, a suo tempo, la sigla dell'anime

Sure, Disgaea 7 Complete isn't technically complete, but it does bundle the base game with the post-game stories, the Nethertime Support Force mini-game, as a mega-boss that will push franchise fans into grinding like it's a full-time job. While it's not worth buying again at a premium price, if you missed Vows of the Virtueless, this is the most robust strategy role-playing game currently on Switch 2.
