Baldur's Gate III non è del tutto privo di difetti e questi tendono a farsi più evidenti in particolare nell'ultimo atto di gioco, che soffre specialmente per quanto concerne l'ottimizzazione, ma nulla di tutto ciò cambia il fatto che ci troviamo di fronte a un autentico capolavoro. Larian ha già dato vita a vere e proprie perle, ma questo è il suo progetto più ambizioso e di successo e ogni fan dei GdR classici non può farselo scappare.

Sin ser un desarrollo nipón, Sea of Stars comprende y abraza las características y mecánicas del JRPG de forma excepcional superando incluso a clásicos del género. Sabotage Studios hizo un trabajo increíble con The Messenger, y se han superado exponencialmente con una propuesta mágica y emocional, un viaje inolvidable con unos personajes maravillosos. Sin ser una historia memorable, te mantiene pegado a la pantalla durante 30 horas gracias al perfecto diseño de niveles y la construcción del mundo. Es cierto, no inventa nada ya que se apoya en obras de antaño, pero se actualiza con maestría aportando acertados matices en un sólido sistema de combate repleto de posibilidades e interacción pese a los turnos. Y todo ello sin obviar el apartado audiovisual, excelente a todos los niveles, tanto artísticos, gráficos como sonoros. Una auténtica obra de arte, precioso de principio a fin en todos sus escenarios y delicado mediante sus majestuosas melodías. Sea of Stars ya está a la venta en formato digital para PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch y PC, siendo además gratuito para los suscriptores de los servicios de PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium o Xbox Game Pass. Además, ya se ha confirmado que habrá edición física en consolas a principios de 2024.

Tenía muchas ganas de perderme en las profundidades marinas de Under the Wave y lo cierto es que la experiencia no me ha decepcionado. Hablamos de un juego increíblemente bonito cuyo mundo abierto da gusto explorar, aunque solo sea por admirar las vistas. Pero también es un juego que tiene algo que contar, y aunque no siempre acierta en las formas, es fácil que su mensaje cale. Con una pizca de RPG, de juego de supervivencia y aventura narrativa, la suma de todas sus partes convierten a esta producción de Quantic Dream en uno de esos juegos que terminas recordando con cariño al final del año.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central es ese juego que nunca vamos a querer perder de vista, ya sea para sudar un poco o para pasar un rato agradable cuando tenemos visita. Es tan entretenido y la selección de canciones es tan variada, que es fácil olvidarse de los problemillas con los controles.

Fang finds comfort in what she cares about the most, both her talent in song and those that have her back. Considering the choices you may make, these two factors always remain at the forefront, and it’s a life lesson we can all take away from it as we look upon our own society as it stands. It could have been broader in its tale, perhaps even a little longer, but I enjoyed watching Fang’s story unfold. Despite Goodbye Volcano High’s technical limitations in places, I’m sure many others looking for a chill but reflective story of love (worm) drama will too.

Goodbye Volcano High is a terrifically-crafted slice of high school drama that succeeds thanks to the strength of its lovable cast of characters, amazing music and a sweet story about perseverance in the face of uncertainty, be it the possibility of your best friends moving on or the possible end of the world. It's one to recommend, and while it may not be this year's greatest visual novel (if only because the genre has a lot of heavy hitters this year), it is one that does indeed cap off the summer gaming season with a bang.

Firewall Ultra se siente como un juego que ha salido en acceso anticipado y es muy difícil recomendaros que lo juguéis en su estado actual. Mecánicas pobres para la VR, un matchmaking medio roto, largas esperas para jugar, solo dos modos de juego, varias características que no están activas todavía y ausencia total de explicaciones para entender el juego. Puede que dentro de un año la experiencia mejore, pero PS VR2 y PS5 no se merecen esto.

Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon is the best manifestation of FromSoftware’s long-running series. There’s definitely a new Soul inside its Core, unlike any entry before, but also brings about a level of polish and tighter game design that it never had before. The intense boss fights, when you are attuned to what the game demands you off, are adrenaline-pumping fun but it could have been paced out better. The AC customisation is still engrossing with choices upon choices to create that perfect mecha for your playstyle. The presentation and polish here show the true potential of its predecessors that never was realised in full, now being developed by a team of hardened veterans that have shipped multi-million copy blockbuster games. At its core, it’s still a mecha-action game that is structured like the older games. Whether you are a seasoned Raven/Lynx/pilot or not, should you be up for a challenge, AC VI is an action game unlike any other major releases coming this year. May the Fires Of Rubicon continue to be set alight by more and more players jumping into the series. I am already counting days until the next entry arrives.
