FIFA Street non è da consiedrare una vera e propria alternativa alla controparte FIFA 12, ma propone una variante calcistica più sfiziosa ed offre partite che non necessitano di particolari schemi o tattiche. Nonostante sinora è stato apprezzato da una nicchia di videogiocatori, la tipologia di gioco che propone è sicuramente rivolta ad un pubblico più ampio grazie all'approccio più arcade che simulativo. Divertenti anche (e soprattutto) in compagnia, le modalità proposte sono tante e molto varie, e le ore che potete trascorrere davanti a questo titolo saranno davvero molte.

Compared to the very successful FIFA 12, there’s obviously less depth to FIFA Street. But there’s also a lot more immediate fun to be had. Yes, its highs aren’t as thrilling and its lows aren’t as crushing. There isn’t as the same level of immersion or as many variables to master. Yes, its pleasures are cheaper and more ephemeral, but you’ll keep coming back. FIFA Street is more about fantasy fulfilment: it’s about nonchalantly pulling off audacious tricks, scoring outrageous goals, and humiliating your friends in the process. It exists as both a worthy companion to FIFA – providing a quick, fun multiplayer fix – but also as a primer for those who are put off by FIFA’s precipitous learning curve yet still want to kick around a digital ball with friends.

Die lange Pause hat FIFA Street gut getan. Mit der Engine des großen Bruders FIFA 12 als Unterbau wirkt der arcadige Ansatz mit seinen realistischen Tricks sowie dem schnellen Hin und Her zwischen den Toren deutlich bodenständiger als im überkandidelten Vorgänger. Zwar hat die Physik einige Probleme bei Spieler-Kollisonen und die Trick-Abläufe sind mitunter schwer zu unterbrechen. Dennoch kommt sowohl gegen die KI, die allerdings erst auf „Hart“ anspruchsvoll agiert, als auch vor allem gegen menschliche Trickkicker eine Menge Spaß auf. Die Solo-Welttournee mit ihrer Halbonline-Anbindung (es werden Userteams heruntergeladen) ist abwechslungsreich und sorgt mit ihren Upgrades für die Ballkünstler sowie haufenweise freispielbaren Material für Motivation. Online setzt man hauptsächlich auf den Saisonmodus, der bereits FIFA 12 veredelte. Schade ist allerdings, dass nicht alle Spielvarianten im globalen Mehrspielermodus zur Verfügung stehen. Dafür kann man abseits der selbst erstellten Spieler und Teams auch über 100 Lizenz-Mannschaften aus Klub- und National-Ebene wählen. Nach SSX ist dies der zweite gelungene Versuch von EA, eine schal gewordene Serie mit neuem Leben zu füllen.

FIFA Street rend hommage à toutes les formes de football de rue en misant sur davantage de réalisme. Grâce à un mode World Tour complet et très évolutif, le jeu d'EA Sports offre de nombreuses possibilités au joueur. Accompagné de quelques licences, FIFA Street s'attire également les faveurs des habitués des FIFA classiques. Particulièrement sympathique à plusieurs.

FIFA Street is the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of gaming. Equal parts glorious and monstrous, it will leave you ultimately disappointed, if not completely filled with rage. Maybe Icarus is a better metaphor. It flies so close to greatness but invariably crashes and burns. Either way, play FIFA Street at your own risk.
