Encore une fois, MLB The Show monte la barre d’un cran avec MLB The Show 22, notamment du côté sonore et visuel, cherchant toujours plus de réalisme. Néanmoins, le titre souffre du côté des nouveauté en termes de mode et l’accent mis continuellement sur Diamond Dynasty fait que les joueurs des modes solo peuvent se sentir légèrement oubliés. Quoi qu’il en soit, le titre montre de belles perspectives d’avenir pour la licence qui ne cesse de s’améliorer d’opus en opus.

MLB: The Show 22 is another quality instalment, and does its series proud. Although it has some issues, it’s sure to please most, if not all, hardcore baseball fans.

MLB The Show 22 is still a great game of ball, but one that is stating to slow down as it ages. San Diego Studio has been able to innovate in the past, and I hope they get around to addressing some of the weaknesses next time around. Whether that's through going full current-gen or delivering a fresh approach to Road to the Show, there is room for improvement.

MLB The Show 22 remains the sport's one true constant, and some fresh tweaks to existing modes, along with a much-welcomed gameplay addition, prove the game can only get better year after year, even with some features being mysteriously omitted at launch.

MLB The Show 22 continues the tradition of being an excellent emulation of the sport of baseball, but this is another year without major changes. The team seems to be playing it safe and while there will be new players that are blown away, PlayStation players continue to clamor for something refreshing. The cooperative play is fun and it works well, but a portion of this requires going down the rabbit hole that is Diamond Dynasty. It's the look and the feel of what's on the field with the updated presentation and the new announcing team that helps to bring some light to the series. Regardless, there's nothing like the experience of playing MLB The Show 22 alongside opening day.

Avec MLB The Show 22, San Diego Studios continue sur l’excellente lancée de sa franchise tout en parvenant à ne pas faire sombrer les joueurs dans la lassitude. Le jeu est plaisant et son gameplay diablement efficace. Les différents ajouts de cette mouture 2022 viennent renforcer l’aspect simulation et la réalisation du jeu. On ne peut toutefois que déplorer l’absence d’une version française.

Sony sembra voler puntare tutto sulla condivisione per il suo ultimo titolo dedicato al baseball: MLB The Show 22. Oltre ad approdare su Nintendo Switch per la prima volta, confermando la presenza anche su Xbox, il gioco ci permette di giocare in una modalità totalmente Cross: Playing, Saves e Progression. La grafica rispetto al passato e alle versioni test uscite negli ultimi mesi, è stata ulteriormente rifinita e migliorata, permettendoci di vivere un’esperienza totalmente coinvolgente e realistica. A parte questo, però, non ci sono grandi novità in campo. Le modalità presenti sono sempre svariate, permettendoci di vivere una carriera sfavillante, giocare e sfidare le glorie del presente e del passato e semplicemente fare una partita, per trascorrere in leggerezza la nostra giornata. La conferma di tutte queste modalità, allo stesso tempo, non cambia la sensazione di ripetitività in alcuni momenti. Nonostante questo, MLB The Show si conferma essere un ottimo gioco dedicato al baseball, che regala ai fan sparsi per il mondo, la possibilità di immergersi totalmente in questo affascinante sport.

La simulazione di San Diego Studio si dimostra solida anche nella nuova annata: il gameplay resta sontuoso, anche se alcune modalità cominciano a sentire il peso degli anni. Da questo punto di vista ci aspettavamo qualcosa di nuovo. La possibilità di giocarlo direttamente sul GamePass al Day One è un valore aggiunto per tutti gli appassionati di baseball su Xbox, mentre l'arrivo su Nintendo Switch farà felici moltissimi giocatori. Nonostante l'approccio conservativo tenuto da SDS, MLB The Show 22 si conferma insomma, insieme a NBA 2K22, la miglior simulazione sportiva disponibile per le nuove generazioni di console.

Alors que l'édition 2021 nous avait plus que conquis, la saison 2022 de MLB The Show est encore une réussite... mais n'apportera pas autant d'intérêt. Parfaite porte d'entrée aux jeux de Baseball pour quiconque aime le sport et connaît ses règles, le titre de Sony IE ne fera pas bondir de sa chaise un habitué de la saga, et c'est le seul gros bémol : le manque de nouveaux modes de jeu. Pour le reste, la modélisation des plus grandes stars de la batte et de la balle est impeccable, la durée de vie saisissante avec un gameplay toujours accessible aux nouveaux-venus. Mais attention, encore faut-il connaître le sport, son règlement pas forcément expliqué et ne pas être anglophobe.

The key modes in MLB The Show 22 are as fun as ever, which is no surprise given that most of them haven’t changed meaningfully. Hitting, pitching, and fielding remain sublime, and another year on the newest generation of hardware has virtual ballplayers looking even better. However, technical issues are a nuisance and co-op, the most ambitious new element, is fun but unfortunately underdeveloped. The push-pull between reliable small refinements and incomplete major additions is evident, and it’s the clearest sign of the limitations an annual release can have on the series so far. MLB The Show 22 remains a very good baseball game, but it’s beginning to look like a star ballplayer on their way toward a post-prime decline.

Spending time playing the different modes, and just getting a general feel for MLB The Show 22, I found myself enjoying more of the game than I thought I would. Homerun Derby among the other game modes really helped to engulf and immerse myself in the game. Between stats and rosters it is always fun to mess around with major league rosters the way you would want real teams to manage their rosters. With what should be a lasting impression MLB The Show 22 leaves little to the imagination from its predecessor. What should be a definitive installment with the addition of online co-op, winds up being more of the same formula that needs some updates and changes if it is to have a lasting legacy.

La formula di MLB The Show 22 funziona e riesce ancora a divertire, ed alcune novità sono davvero promettenti per il futuro. Il gioco paga però il modello di uscita annuale, che lo lascia senza niente di davvero nuovo da dire. Se siete abbonati al Game Pass e potete giocarlo gratuitamente, il download diventa d'obbligo; in alternativa, valutate bene quanto vi interessino le poche aggiunte presenti, prima di acquistare un ennesimo more of the same.

MLB The Show 22 is one of the most conservative annual sports titles I’ve played in some time. Aside from a few minor mechanical tweaks and a handful of ancillary features like online co-op and new commentary, this is essentially the same game we got last year. It’s a shame because the franchise’s core gameplay remains rock-solid, but it’s increasingly difficult to ignore its lack of ambition. Those new to the series can add at least a point to my score, but longtime fans aren’t getting much to cheer for.
