En definitiva Syberia 3 significa el retorno de la saga por todo lo alto. El juego mantiene el nivel de sus predecesores. La espera mereció la pena pese a las notables caídas en el rendimiento del juego. Una aventura que no defraudará a los amantes del género. Sin duda, es muy recomendable acompañar a Kate Walker y los youkol en esta Gran Migración.

Syberia III manca di rifiniture e manca anche di alcune delle qualità dei primi due capitoli, in particolare nella scrittura qui meno ispirata. Alcuni bei momenti ci sono, Kate Walker è sempre meravigliosa, la colonna sonora di Inon Zur è una delle più belle ascoltate negli ultimi tempi, ma il senso di seguito forzato più dagli eventi che dall'ispirazione è davvero forte e, nonostante la direzione di Sokal sia visibile nell'intero racconto, l'impressione generale è quella di una produzione estremamente difficoltosa e combattuta, che si riflette soprattutto nell'interfaccia, una delle peggiori sperimentate in un'avventura grafica negli ultimi anni, e in alcuni piccoli dettagli, come la diacronia di alcuni testi rispetto agli eventi di gioco. Insomma, sembra che con i mesi ci sia stato un grosso lavorio per provare ad aggiustare la rotta, ma il risultato lascia comunque a desiderare. Comunque, chi ha amato i primi due Syberia dovrebbe provare anche questo terzo episodio. Chi invece non li conosce, farebbe meglio a provare prima quelli e lasciarsi incantare dalla loro eccellenza, evitando di pensare a Syberia III.

Pour que Syberia 3 vous enivre, il faudra faire un choix. Les plus exigeants ne manqueront pas d'être rebutés, à juste titre, par les nombreux problèmes qui ternissent l'expérience de la troisième aventure de Kate Walker. Caméra erratique empêchant parfois la résolution de puzzle, optimisation PC ratée, maniabilité entièrement à revoir, doublage et synchronisation labiale aux fraises... autant d'éléments pouvant aisément venir à bout de la patience du joueur endurci. Pourtant, avec recul et tolérance, vous pouvez aussi choisir de passer outre tout cela et d'apprécier ce qui reste un jeu d'aventure qui fait honneur à son héritage. Qu'il s'agisse de son histoire, de son atmosphère unique, de ses puzzles inventifs ou de sa direction artistique de haute volée, Syberia 3 dispose de solides arguments malheureusement trop vite contrecarrés par des lacunes techniques d'un autre temps. Aussi charmant qu'agaçant, Syberia nous offre des retrouvailles en demi-teinte.

There’ll always be a time and a place for a game like Syberia 3. While not all of the tradition of its previous mid-2000 ventures have translated well into the modern age, Kate Walker’s third outing in this subtly steampunk universe, if sporting a few technical faults and some fairly sub-par voice acting, holds up well enough in its gameplay to warrant a playthrough. Microïds may not be looking to radically shift the formula from what came before all those years ago and while at points its controls clearly show an unpleasant age to itself, the charm of its aesthetic not to mention the design of puzzles in parts keeps Syberia 3 firmly away from the gated-off litter of games often referred to as sequels we never asked for. There may not be as huge or as lucrative a demand here, but the adventure undertaken — after fourteen years of wait for some — is a satisfactory but modest one all the same.

Net als de vorige delen heeft Syberia 3 een diepere boodschap in zich. Deze boodschap wordt echter teniet gedaan door de vele mankementen van de game. Lip sync die niet klopt, geluiden die af en toe verdwijnen en slechte camerastandpunten zorgen ervoor dat de game eerder irritant is dan vermakelijk. En dat is ontzettend jammer. Er zit namelijk ontzettend veel potentie in de wereld van Syberia en de verhalen die deze vertelt. Met deze game zou je daar op moeten focussen, maar er is te veel afleiding van dingen die niet kloppen of puzzels die juist zorgen voor vertraging. Het is zonde om te zien dat er van zo veel potentie zo weinig overblijft.

A below-par return for the series. The awkward controls and slow pace detract from what is actually quite a charming little tale about the human condition. Without more to grab the attention though, it just feels like the game never gets out of first gear

It took 13 years for Kate Walker to come back, but it might have been better for Syberia fans if she never did. Syberia 3 is a disappointing adventure game that retained nothing of the best features of the previous entries in the series, introducing so many changes that simply don't work as intended or are marred by poor design choices, making it a worthy purchase only for the most die-hard Kate Walker fans.

Schon wieder ein unfertig veröffentlichtes Adventure: Nach dem enttäuschenden Dreamfall Chapters zerstören technische Probleme auch die in Syberia 3 gesetzten Hoffnungen. Die acht Jahre seit der ersten Ankündigung haben der Rätselreise in die Wildnis des ehemaligen Ostblocks nicht gerade gut getan. Die Story und Mechanik-Puzzles halten sich in etwa die Waage, für den größten Dämpfer auf das Erlebnis sorgt aber die schwache Technik. Es beginnt mit der abgehackten Vertonung und zieht sich mit Geruckel und hölzernen Animationen durchs komplette Spiel. Die wirren Perspektivwechsel und die sperrige Steuerung haben mir beinahe den letzten Nerv geraubt: Oft besteht die Herausforderung nicht darin, die eigentlich einfachen und logischen Rätsel zu lösen, sondern doch noch den passenden Winkel zu finden, aus dem man ein wichtiges Detail oder einen Interaktionspunkt entdeckt. Schade um die mystische Stimmung und den gelungenen Design-Mix aus mechanischer Technik und idyllischen Naturkulissen – aber hier läuft einfach zu viel falsch, um sie genießen zu können!

Syberia was a series built around amazing puzzles and unique storytelling. Syberia 3 was an opportunity to bring all of that to a new generation. Unfortunately, it has remained mired in the pixel-hunting past, riddled with bugs, obtuse controls, and an uninspired storyline coupled with head-scratching voice work. I wanted to enjoy Syberia 3, but too many issues may leave this series stuck in the frozen snow.
