Shining Resonance Refrain is an entertaining adventure through a somewhat cliche story, but it contains its own unique aspects that keep you engaged. Combat is easy to learn, but there's a decent amount of depth to it. Dragonshift and B.A.N.D. sessions are wonderful combat mechanics that add more charm to the game. The relationship building and dating also adds a cute slice of life portion to the adventure.

Pour conclure, nous pouvons dire que Shining Resonance Refrain est un très bon titre, qui brille par ses qualités. Ses quelques défauts sont bien vite surclassés par les bonnes idées qui animent la production. Tant sa profondeur d’écriture, que la mise en place de cette dernière sont un bonheur. Sa bande-son et ses personnages attachants font du titre un JRPG qu’on n’oubliera pas de si tôt.

In definitiva il lavoro svolto dal colosso nipponico SEGA per questa remaster vive di idiosincrasie, esattamente come la cultura a cui appartiene: da un lato racconta una storia ricca di ridondanti e ciclici cliché, accompagnata da un comparto tecnico molto zoppicante, salvato in parte dalla caratterizzazione dei personaggi e dei vari nemici che si incontrano nell’incedere dell’avventura, dall’altro offre un gameplay tutto sommato ben rodato e con diverse idee interessanti. Se non avete mai giocato un capitolo della serie Shining e se non avete problemi con la lingua inglese, allora Shining Resonance Refrain riuscirà a regalarvi parecchie ore di spensierato intrattenimento. Ancora meglio se siete fan della saga e per tutto questo tempo vi siete dovuti affidare al mercato import: in questo caso dovete assolutamente recuperarlo, senza se e senza ma.

Trattandosi di un titolo che ha già quattro anni sulle spalle, è probabile che Shining Resonance Refrain non fosse esattamente l'incarnazione della serie più indicata per cercare di rilanciare il franchise anche in Occidente. Ciononostante, le curiose meccaniche di gameplay offerte dal pacchetto ne fanno un acquisto imprescindibile per qualsiasi appassionato di anime ed RPG di fattura nipponica. Dal momento che il prodotto presenta tanto fan-service, siamo certi che gli estimatori non sapranno resistere all’indiscutibile sex appeal che contraddistingue i personaggi creati dal maestro Tony Taka.

Dopo quasi 4 anni dalla sua uscita in Giappone, Shining Resonance Refrain approda in occidente sulle console di attuale generazione. Il prodotto offerto da SEGA si presenta come un ottimo action-RPG, con una trama coinvolgente e molto longeva ed un sistema di combattimento semplice e divertente, che con il tempo diventa sempre più profondo. Da rivedere invece completamente le missioni secondarie, davvero ripetitive. E' sicuramente un titolo consigliatissimo per gli amanti di questo genere.

Shining Resonance Refrain è un titolo che esce in un periodo un po’ spento in termini di grandi blockbuster videoludici e nomi altisonanti. Un action rpg come non se ne vedevano da tempo, che unisce una struttura ad aree e un gameplay in tempo reale (quasi fosse un musou) a meccaniche da gioco di ruolo più riflessive e profonde. Si tratta di un’esperienza semplice e divertente, soprattutto se approcciata senza aspettative o particolari pretese. La narrazione lascia il tempo che trova, ma un cast simpatico e delle meccaniche di gioco peculiari e divertenti lo rendono un buon gioco se cercate qualcosa per impegnare le vostre sudate giornate estive.

Passé sur système de combat, très réussi, presque aussi dynamique que celui d’un YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, Shining Resonance Refrain accumule esthétiques et défauts qui peuvent détourner le joueur. En voici une liste non exhaustive : dialogues (tout en anglais) à rallonge, personnages reposants sur des clichés un peu trop éprouvés dans le genre JRPG, héros sans aucun charisme, animation peu naturelle hors des combats, etc. Et pourtant, si l’on passe outre ces problèmes, cette version de Shining Resonance Refrain réussit à captiver, par ses combats contre des boss un peu plus exigeants que le troll moyen, par son histoire pleine de rebondissements, mais aussi par ses personnages, aussi clichés soient-ils. De quoi passer une bonne quarantaine d’heures.

Shining Resonance Refrain is a decidedly adequate game. It has dozens of hours of content, but those hours include passable battles, an average story, tired MMO elements, and a mediocre dating sim to boot. It's not going to twist the arm of someone who’s sworn off JRPGs like Persona 5 would, but it could do just enough to satisfy die-hard fans of the genre.
