Darksiders II is an excellent launch game to test your Wii U. Its mixture of gameplay styles puts the console through its places and proves that the Wii U is well adapted to traditional games. Besides that, Darksiders II is an enormous adventure and the Wii U version even includes the first round of DLC on the disc, so if you’ve been holding out on Darksiders II, the Wii U version is the one to get.

With Darksiders II, the franchise has cemented itself as an essential property among the likes of Devil May Cry and God of War. Even with the scale increasing in practically every area, the game manages to be less intimidating than its predecessor. The story certainly needs improvement, but the gameplay will always remain the main draw. Those who already own the game have no reason to buy it again, as the Wii U version is largely the same as the prior console versions. While they don't hinder the experience, the touch and motion controls are largely disposable and the graphics prove nearly indistinguishable from PS3 and Xbox 360. Still, it remains the same great game as before, so those who have yet to venture out into the great unknown as Death are guaranteed a great launch title with the Wii U version of Darksiders II.

La mezcla de géneros es muy efectiva, con rol, acción, puzles, plataformas, buen argumento... El desarrollo nunca cansa, pero es verdad que en esta versión de Wii U echamos en falta un mayor aprovechamiento del gamepad.

Vigil Games realiza un "port" simple pero cuidado de su gran obra para este 2012. Gráficamente no presenta apenas diferencias con respecto al resto de versiones, pero la posibilidad de poder jugar a Darksiders II sin necesidad de televisor ya es un aspecto que podría resultar muy interesante a muchos jugadores. Eso, y que el videojuego viene de serie con un DLC que expande la duradera campaña original, ya cargada en sí misma de satisfactorias batallas, mazmorras y puzles. Sin duda, un lanzamiento con especial dedicatoria a los potenciales jugadores "hardcore" de Wii U.

L'edizione Wii U di Darksiders 2 è seriamente consigliata agli amanti dell'Action Adventure. Nonostante un plot un po' meno interessante rispetto a quello del primo capitolo, il titolo Vigil Games propone un'avventura lunga e intrigante, divisa fra l'esplorazione di dungeon labirintici, la risoluzione degli enigmi ambientali ed i furiosi combattimenti in cui risalta la potenza di Morte. Forse proprio la concentrazione sulle dinamiche Action, molto più ritmate rispetto a quelle del predecessore, potrebbe scoraggiare qualcuno, ma il consiglio è quello di tentare comunque, perchè il mondo di Darksiders 2 ha molto da offrire. La versione Wii U soffre di un'ottimizzazione un po' carente, che punta tutto sulla qualità delle texture ma spegne l'anti-alias e sacrifica così la pulizia della scena. L'uso del GamePad è troppo passivo per risollevare la situazione. Eppure la presenza dei DLC di lancio rimpolpa ulteriormente uno story mode lungo e accattivante.

Encore sous le charme du premier volet, on en attendait certainement trop de ce Darksiders II. Au final, ses petits défauts nous sautent aux yeux et nous empêchent de céder sans retenue aux charmes de Death. Ne perdez pas tout espoir, même si elle n'est pas à la hauteur de son aîné, cette suite nous propose une aventure qui mérite amplement le détour et qui ravira les amateurs de loots, de combats effrénés et de voyages inter-dimensionnels.

Despite its problems, I was compelled onward in my quest with Death because Darksiders II is simply a fun game. The RPG elements and to-the-point action all make for some solid gaming, glitches and all. It’s a shame so many glaring issues hold such an ambitious endeavor back from the greatness its developers were clearly aiming for. Still, if you love action adventure games, it’s certainly worth checking out - but don’t expect it to rival the masterpieces it will inevitably call to mind.
