Trials Rising è tutto quello che la serie ci ha abituato essere, e pure di più. Una tonnellata di piste con cui confrontarsi, compiti extra per spingerci a padroneggiare al meglio le moto e un sacco di morti spettacolari a cui mandare incontro il nostro pilota. Il comparto tecnico non è eccelso, ma lo stile compensa in buona parte le sbavature. Con l'online e le creazioni degli utenti, il divertimento è assicurato per ore.

Non serve rivoluzionare qualcosa per renderla perfetta, chiedete a Trials Rising per averne conferma. Una rinnovata struttura, migliorata sotto diversi aspetti e arricchita da contenuti potenzialmente infiniti, basta a renderlo uno dei migliori esponenti della serie, nonché un perfetto seguito di Trials Fusion, lanciato da Ubisoft nella prima parte di questa generazione. Di novità clamorose nemmeno l’ombra è vero, e la difficoltà di alcuni tracciati rasenta l’impossibile, ma questo nuovo capitolo si rinnova quanto basta e apre le porte a chiunque voglia avvicinarsi alle divertenti gare su due ruote. Tante gare in giro per il mondo, sfide improbabili e tantissime opzioni di personalizzazione sono i punti forti del titolo, che farà felici i fan di lungo corso. Che siano intere nottate trascorse a sfidare gli amici in locale o veloci sessioni solitarie, Trials Rising riuscirà a farvi arrabbiare, divertire e tirare fuori il meglio (o il peggio) di sé. La sfida delle due ruote è iniziata, sarete in grado di superarla?

Trials Rising non innova, si limita a perfezionare una formula ampiamente collaudata migliorandone, seppur marginalmente, quasi tutti gli aspetti sia dal punto di vista qualitativo che quantitativo. Ogni singola porzione della nuova fatica di RedLynx funziona a meraviglia: la moto “tandem” è una vera goduria, la componente multiplayer è completa e solida, tutte le leaderboard sono cross-platform, e la colonna sonora è decisamente di prim’ordine, costituita da brani per lo più “rockeggianti” perfetti per l’esperienza offerta dal gioco. Sebbene non intacchi in alcun modo la struttura di base del gioco, siamo ancora un po’ scettici riguardo l’introduzione di un sistema di loot totalmente casuale all’interno di un prodotto del genere, ma fino a quando resta una cosa opzionale e non invasiva, possiamo anche chiudere un occhio.

Quando ti devi sforzare per riempire il box dei contro, hai la certezza matematica che gli sviluppatori hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro. E Trials Rising è un ottimo lavoro, fuori da ogni dubbio: prendete tutto quello che di buono c'era in Fusion e inseritelo in un contesto ancora più spaccone, ancora più competitivo e ancora più arcade – ma nel senso più puro del termine, quello da sala giochi. Ecco, qual è il risultato finale.

Pur senza stravolgere la formula o risultare particolarmente innovativo, Trials Rising riporta la serie sui giusti binari, superando con brillantezza il passo falso compiuto ai tempi di Trials of the Blood Dragon. RedLynx lo ritiene il più ambizioso Trials di sempre, definizione che a ben vedere risulta un po' eccessiva perché di novità sostanziali ce ne sono poche. La proposta è bene o male sempre la stessa, in compenso è stata elevata al quadrato in termini di quantità e varietà delle location selezionabili. Editor e modalità multiplayer costituiscono come sempre un ottimo valore aggiunto per un titolo che offre davvero tante ore di divertimento e una sfida non indifferente anche per i giocatori più talentuosi. Insomma, chi in passato ha saputo apprezzare le qualità di Trials Evolution e Trials Fusion non resterà affatto deluso nemmeno questa volta.

Tout ce qu'il ne le tue pas le rend plus fort. Le casse-cou devant survivre aux tracés aussi dynamiques qu'intransigeants imaginés par RedLynx ne peut que se frotter les gants face à tant de réussite. Le jeu sponsorisé par Ubisoft est drôle en solo comme en multi, en plus d'être bourré d'options et de fonctionnalités bienvenues. Grâce à ses éléments de personnalisation et à son éditeur de niveaux très complet, nul doute que la communauté y trouvera son compte. À l'image des os des pilotes qui plient mais ne rompent pas, Trials Rising a négocié avec brio son grand retour dans la course, quand bien même sa formule n'aurait pas tant évolué en une décennie.

Trials Rising es un juego tan divertido, exigente e intenso como siempre, aunque su campaña no está tan bien ajustada como nos habría gustado, obligándonos a repetir pistas con una progresión centrada en la acumulación de experiencia, y no en la mejora de nuestras propias marcas. Más allá de esto, hay alguna que otra pequeña pega, pero que por sí misma no empañaría el resultado final de este juego de Redlynx. Por lo demás, en general, un gran juego de plataformas sobre dos ruedas, con un gran diseño de niveles, una dificultad elevada (pero justa) y un ajuste perfecto de su control...

Non possiamo nascondervi che Trials Rising ci ha divertito nonostante un gameplay all'apparenza monotono. La fisica del gioco aggiunge quella variabilità che rende il titolo unico nel suo genere. I ragazzi di RedLynx hanno svolto un buon lavoro nella realizzazione degli svariati tracciati, tutti ben diversificati grazie anche all'inclusione di location reali e ben curate. La difficoltà è bilanciata al punto giusto da garantire una progressione regolare delle abilità del giocatore, questo grazie anche alla sua natura trial and error piuttosto marcata in alcuni tracciati.

Trials Rising offers some of the coolest levels in the series to date, and its new tutorial system does a better job of teaching you how to actually execute its hardest techniques than any game before it. That wide variety of tracks is unfortunately bogged down by the frustrating grind it takes to unlock them all and some strange decisions that lead to a more discouraging experience, but it’s still satisfying to get back on the bike and try for better medals if you can make it to the finish line.

Alla fine della fiera Trials Rising è un compitino ben svolto: uno studente brillante ma che si impegna il meno possibile per ottenere un risultato giusto al di sopra della media. Parlo da assidua giocatrice della serie. Avrei probabilmente preferito una dose maggiore di coraggio e follia: non è cosa facile innovare mantenendo lo spirito originale. Fusion non ne era stato capace e con Rising sono praticamente ritornati sui loro passi infiocchettando il pacco con un nutrita dose di competitività in rete. Tutti lo sanno però: la fortuna aiuta gli audaci. E noi fan di vecchia data lo sappiamo, i RedLynx sono molto più audaci di così.

Trials Rising dishes out the tricks we’ve come to expect from the series. Developer RedLynx steps up their level design and delivers more content than ever, but overly-familiar mechanics and unseemly microtransactions make it hard to get too excited about the game. There’s no doubt that Trials Rising is the culmination of the entire series. Running races that are built around platforming elements with a bit of puzzle solving when things slow down is an experience you can’t find in any other game. Throw in a track editor and a ton of customization options, and there’s plenty to come back to and perfect. The downer, though, is the overemphasis on loot crates and putting all these customizations either behind a paywall or a really long grind. This also includes unlocking the other bikes in the game. The track editor also isn’t very approachable for new players, but having the option out there to download other’s tracks adds to the replayability of the game along with the multiplayer options. Trials Rising is a fun spectacle that puts the best of the nearly twenty-year-old series into one package.
