1-2 Switch defied my expectations, providing an entertainment experience above and beyond that of what I thought was its closest counterpart, Wii Sports. It has a huge variety of games, some better than others, which appeal to both gamers and non-gamers alike. Although artificial restrictions placed on some games and game modes keep it from being as much fun as it could be, this is an excellent party game, and it’s just as much fun to watch as it is to play.

Mentre Wii Sports aveva pochi giochi ma dall'enorme appeal e rigiocabilità (tanto che per milioni di persone Wii era sostanzialmente "la console di Wii Sports"), 1-2-Switch è un ottimo titolo dimostrativo che tuttavia intrattiene solo la prima volta che lo stesso gruppo di amici gioca assieme. Duello nel West fa eccezione ed è senza dubbio il titolo più intuitivo e divertente del pacchetto, ma da solo purtroppo non basta a far splendere una collection che invece resta appena sufficiente se non si hanno tantissimi amici. Per un partita con degli sconosciuti al parco, invece, si è dimostrato perfetto.

1, 2 Switch assure son rôle de distraction grand public. Il tient ainsi plus de l'amuse-bouche vidéoludique que du véritable party-game fouillé que l’on relancera à chaque soirée entre copains. Malgré sa très bonne utilisation des différentes capacités des Joycon, les différents mini-jeux et modes de jeux qu’il nous propose manquent trop de profondeur pour être intéressants sur le long terme. Cela ne les empêche pas d'être particulièrement fun le temps d'une petite partie occasionelle avec des amis ou avec des amateurs souhaitant découvrir la Nintendo Switch.

1-2 Switch a le potentiel pour devenir un compagnon de soirée idéal. Ce party-game démontre avec malice et bonne humeur (notamment pour les spectateurs) ce que les Joy-Con sont capables de procurer. Mais pas toujours malheureusement. Même si une majorité de mini-jeux satisfait, on n'éprouve pas forcément l'envie d'y rester scotché plus d'une heure. Contrairement à Wii Sports en son temps.

Outside of a few interesting ideas and some cool demonstrations of the Joy-Con controllers' HD rumble capabilities, 1-2 Switch's shallow collection of minigames has little to offer. The bizarre actors of the cringe-inducing live-action video demonstrations looked like they were having fun, but I certainly wasn't.
