Simply put, Max is a fantastic indie game and a far better purchase than many of the others currently available for download. In Curse of Brotherhood, Xbox One has a fun, good-looking platformer at a budget price. Highly recommended.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood capita veramente a fagiolo all'interno dell'offerta attuale di Xbox One, presentandosi con la carica di giocabilità immediata del platform in 2D e riempiendo così spazi ancora ampiamente vuoti sulla next gen Microsoft. Il bello è che la sua struttura ibrida con elementi puzzle si dimostra poi anche decisamente profonda e originale, grazie alle diverse soluzioni creative offerte dall'utilizzo del pennarello magico. Certo si tratta di un'esperienza fugace, data la scarsa difficoltà generale e la relativa brevità connessa alle dimensioni ridotte della produzione da cui deriva, ma visto anche il prezzo a cui è venduto, l'avventura di Max rappresenta un ottimo investimento, anche considerando l'attuale contesto di Xbox One.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood è un titolo solido e interessante: un nuovo inizio per una software house che, grazie al supporto di Microsoft, si avvicina in grande stile alla scena digital delivery. Al di là di qualche incertezza nella fluidità del motore di gioco e di un comparto grafico vistosamente old-gen, la proposta di Press Play è vivace, originale, ben congegnata e molto densa. La varietà di situazioni e la buona alternanza fra fasi platform ed enigmi galvanizza il giocatore dall'inizio alla fine, soprattutto per i meriti di puzzle ben studiati, complessi al punto giusto, molto stimolanti. Assieme a Teslagrad, insomma, The Curse of Brotherhood è una graditissima sorpresa in questo dicembre troppo piatto. Una delle migliori esclusive Xbox dell'anno, assolutamente da giocare su 360 e su One.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood mi ha divertito e tenuto incollato allo schermo. Ha saputo farmi arrabbiare il giusto, costringendomi ad accendere il cervello: un’esperienza piacevole sia per gli occhi che per la mente. Altro punto di importanza centrale è il prezzo, 15 euro, che rapportati alla qualità e alla longevità complessive (21 livelli terminabili tra le 6 e le 8 ore) lo rendono un titolo che di certo non sfigura nella line-up di Xbox One. Insomma, per una cifra tutto sommato irrisoria vi porterete a casa un titolo che, seppur non mostri i veri muscoli della next gen, ce ne dimostra la bontà. Max ovviamente non vale l’acquisto di Xbox One, ma è da avere assolutamente se già se ne possiede una.

Pour qui cherche à s'offrir un jeu de plates-formes sur sa Xbox One flambant neuve, Max : The Curse of Brotherhood fera un excellent candidat. Certes, le marqueur manque parfois de précision, ainsi que Max lui-même, et au-delà de l'exigence assumée de certaines séquences, il arrivera que l'on ne puisse que blâmer le jeu pour certaines morts, pour autant, on traverse les 7 heures de l'aventure avec plaisir et sans regrets.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood doesn’t break any new ground, and should have had the option of using the Kinect for the drawing mechanic, but still delivers. It has rough edges, but overcomes most of them because the platforming is done well. The controls for it are responsive, as are the drawing controls — they’re just naturally hurt by the lack of touch screen functionality and hampered by time not stopping for most drawing events. Visually, it looks fine, but isn’t the game to showcase the console’s power. The audio is excellent in every way, with a strong voice cast, soundtrack and impressive sound effects rounding it out. If you enjoyed Max’s first adventure and can tolerate some iffy drawing mechanics, The Curse of the Brotherhood is easily worth its asking price.

Plus qu'agréable à regarder, Max : The Curse of Brotherhood est aussi un titre qui se laisse jouer avec un plaisir non feint. L'aspect réflexion prend largement le pas sur la partie plateforme, plombée par quelques erreurs de jeunesse, et enchante assez rapidement. Cela grâce à des idées de gameplay ingénieuses liées au marqueur magique, l'application d'un moteur physique et l'interactivité possible grâce aux éléments créés. Bref, les possesseurs de Xbox One en manque de jeux peuvent se pencher dessus sans crainte.

A bright platformer is just what we needed on Xbox One and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood’s vibrant setting and terrain-altering puzzles deliver. But the adventure doesn’t quite feel next-gen. With unintuitive controls, puzzle mechanics that’ve been done better elsewhere, and a story with the depth of a coloring book, it’s hard to stay invested in this short adventure.
