Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare ist auch auf PlayStation 3 und 4 wie ein Klecks bunter Farbe im graubraunen Alltag der Militärshooter. Vor allem zu Beginn ist das wilde Gemetzel ein Riesenspaß: Die Krieger sind unheimlich lustig designt und ihre sehr unterschiedlichen Fähigkeiten machen die Schlachten erstaunlich abwechslungsreich. Viele fiese Fallen, Gadgets und kleine KI-Helfer sorgen außerdem für eine taktische Note. Auch technisch schlägt sich der Krieg auf fantasievoll gestalteten Karten gut – zumindest in der PS4-Version. In der PS3-Umsetzung wirkt die Kulisse dagegen wie auf der Xbox 360 ein wenig unsauber. Da die kostenlosen Updates der übrigen Fassungen gleich von Beginn an dabei sind, bekommen PS4-Nutzer zum Start des Spiels das rundeste Gesamtpaket. Auch die auf anderen Systemen nachträglich gepatchte Balance sorgt von Anfang an für etwas mehr Motivation. Ein leichter Dämpfer sind wieder die kleinen Extras gegen Echtgeld, welche vermutlich später nachgereicht werden werden.

Divertente, colorato, fluido, profondo e più strategico di quanto si possa pensare a prima vista. La versione per PC di Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare riprende per filo e per segno quanto visto qualche mese fa su Xbox One e Xbox 360, aggiunge i controlli mouse-tastiera, qualche abbellimento grafico e un matchmaking impeccabile. Se già a fine febbraio lo shooter multiplayer di PopCap Games ne era uscito alla grande, lo stesso non può che ripetersi oggi su PC, anche se qualche contenuto inedito avrebbe fatto piacere.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare in versione PlayStation 4 ha il plus di una maggiore risoluzione e di (quasi) tutti i DLC usciti sinora ad un prezzo budget, ma ha anche tutti i limiti della prima uscita. Più contenuti ora certo, ma ancora non siamo dalle parti dei soliti noti FPS. Immediatezza, simpatia, tanto divertimento e tutto sommato dinamiche discretamente complesse: Garden Warfare è quindi un titolo multiplayer decisamente valido, ma che punta decisamente a colpire non tanto i navigati appassionati degli shooter competitivi quanto un pubblico che si affaccia per la prima volta online, o magari chi cerca un titolo meno "punitivo" e accessibile.

Garden Warfare si riconferma anche su Ps4 uno sparatutto in terza persona leggero e divertente, alternativa perfetta allo strapotere degli shooter bellici. Dinamico e vivace ma soprattutto ben bilanciato e -grazie agli ultimi DLC- anche sufficientemente vario, Garden Warfare è stata una bella sorpresa al momento del lancio su Xbox One, e lo sarà anche per gli utenti Sony. Su PlayStation, al di là di qualche oggetto inedito, si segnala una buona ottimizzazione dell'engine, che gira fluido a 60fps e 1080p nativi. Sicuramente non sono le caratteristiche tecniche ad ingolosire, quanto più l'originalità di fondo del concept e delle dinamiche. Garden Warfare arriva del resto dopo una generazione di cloni di Call of Duty e, sfottendo le tendenze del mercato a partire già dal nome, riesce a presentarsi come un'alternativa fresca e inedita, dedicata anche a chi aveva perso l'amore per gli sparatutto.

Garden Warfare respects its roots by preserving its characters and their humor and skillfully adapting their charm to a third-person shooter. A few clever twists on the standard modes give the action some fresh personality, and the co-op survival mode is a fun homage to the original games. Plus the solid controls, fun modes, and varied map design make it a good shooter to boot.

Una vez que han pasado los meses y se ha solventado la grave carencia de contenidos que mostraba al comienzo, tenemos un producto bastante completo y ya no da esa sensación de juego por terminar. El aumento en la resolución y el hecho de que todo el contenido extra esté incluido ya en el disco hacen que se gane un par de décimas más que en su primera review.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare è un salto di qualità eccellente che testimonia il passaggio da un semplice tower defense per dispositivi portatili, ad uno sparatutto in terza persona ricco di novità, con una colonna sonora non proprio di alto livello, ma con un gameplay ed una grafica molto accattivanti, qualità che di certo fanno guadagnare al gioco il premio di essere uno dei migliori sparatutto online in terza persona di questa generazione di videogiochi.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare improves upon the Xbox One debut thanks to the addition of a few more maps, characters and modes. They still don’t quite edge it into greatness, but this is a stronger package than what PopCap originally debuted. That being said, all four of the DLC packs the PS4 version includes are (and have been) available on the Xbox One as free downloads. Remote Play is novel, but ultimately throwaway, and the resolution increase from 900p on the Xbox One to 1080p on the PS4 is minimally noticeable. Garden Warfare remains a colorful and entertaining experience no matter the platform and one we hope will continue to grow.

Plantes contre Zombies : Garden Warfare est un jeu dans lequel on s'amuse sincèrement. Le gameplay est riche et bien conçu, l'univers est vraiment drôle et les parties en ligne ne manquent pas de sel. Malheureusement, le contenu est très limité et on est contraint de tourner en rond des heures durant dans les mêmes maps pour débloquer la moindre amélioration. A moins bien entendu qu'un système de micro-transactions finisse tôt ou tard par s'inviter dans la boutique intégrée du jeu...
