The worst thing that can be said about Kirby and the Forgotten Land is simply that there isn’t more of it. Previous experiments with a 3D Kirby might have missed the mark, but this title makes up for any shortcomings with its new additions and altered mechanics. Forgotten Land is both a truly fantastic Kirby game and one of the best games anyone can find on the Switch. With enough time and polish, a new title building off of Forgotten Land’s ambitions could make for a truly perfect game.

Despite not really breaking any ground, and with a couple of minor grievances, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a wonderful outing for the pink puffball and a major high point for the series. At very few points over the course of the game did I not have a massive grin on my face, especially wherever Mouthful Mode is concerned. What could Kirby possibly eat next now that he’s thoroughly consumed my heart?

Il nostro parere su Kirby e la terra perduta era già estremamente positivo ancor prima di cominciare l'ultimo mondo. Il nuovo titolo Nintendo è ricchissimo di contenuti, sfoggia un level design straordinariamente vario ed è anche abbastanza longevo per gli standard della serie, nonostante la semplicità che lo rende particolarmente adatto ai più piccoli ma anche uno spensierato passatempo per gli adulti. Abbiamo completato il gioco con grande soddisfazione, ma quando abbiamo scoperto che la storia non finisce ai titoli di coda, e che c'è ancora da scoprire e da giocare, abbiamo avuto la conferma che la nuova avventura del Batuffolo Rosa è davvero uno dei titoli migliori nella sua lunga carriera, e una strada che HAL Laboratory speriamo percorra almeno un altro po' prima di ricominciare coi suoi esperimenti.

Pari réussi pour notre petite boule rose ! Ce passage à la 3D est un franc succès et donne plus de profondeur à cet univers Nintendo, d'habitude plus en retrait que les géants de la firme (Mario, Zelda et autres Pokémon). Entre nouveautés bien pensées et éléments emblématiques, Kirby a indéniablement trouvé la bonne formule et nous livre une excellente surprise. Tout est simple certes, mais ça fonctionne et il est difficile de lâcher la console des mains. Alors oui, le monde est moins ouvert que ce que l'on pensait, oui vous y trouverez peu de véritables défis, mais on oublie vite cela une fois le jeu lancé. Une petite bouffée d'air frais qui fait du bien et constitue une excellente porte d'entrée dans l'univers de Kirby.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is easily the best Kirby game that's been made in the series and is an important step forward for the franchise, even if it may be a bit too linear for many's liking. The Mouthful ability and the full transition to 3D are two features that should be here to stay, as they open up the gameplay possibilities considerably.

Nel valutare Kirby e la terra perduta, è importate inquadrare bene il tipo di pubblico a cui l'ultima fatica di HAL Laboratory potrebbe rivolgersi. Gli utenti più hardcore, quelli che per intenderci spolpano dalla A alla Z ogni angolino delle opere della Grande N, rischiano di trovarsi al cospetto di un'avventura decisamente meno sfidante del previsto: l'incedere del nuovo Kirby è un po' meccanico, e la sua rilassante linearità potrebbe addirittura quasi venire a noia - anche perché non siamo affatto di fronte all'emulo di Mario Odyssey che in tanti già pregustavano. Al contrario, sarà al contempo difficile trattenere il sincero entusiasmo di una fascia di giocatori meno esperti ed esigenti, che avranno modo di vivere un viaggio memorabile in compagnia di un adulto, scoprendo tutta la magia di una grande produzione a marchio Nintendo.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land might not redefine the genre, but it's still a solid 3D platformer with a great gimmick. Kirby's duplication ability makes for some great gameplay and the much-anticipated Mouthful Mode doesn't disappoint. It's still lacking in some areas, but there's plenty of enjoyment to be had.
