Aunque muy conservador en lo jugable, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope ofrece una aventura muy atractiva con una historia impecable un acabado técnico muy notable sobre todo en lo gráfico y si perdonamos algunos pequeños errores sonoros y un desarrollo que aunque algo a trompicones hay que admitir que acaba siendo coherente y está bastante bien hilado, no obstante el juego no ofrece mucho mas y aunque una vez acabado podremos rejugarlo de nuevo por los diferentes finales que posee quizá el jugador decida dejar pasar al menos un tiempo antes de volver a esta desvencijada y abandonada ciudad.

Little Hope ripropone la formula già collaudata e portata avanti con Man of Medan, presentandosi migliore di quest'ultimo sotto diversi aspetti ma non riuscendo ancora a raggiungere il livello di Until Dawn che ancora rimane il miglior lavoro di Supermassive Games. La narrazione beneficia di un tema più ad ampio respiro rispetto alla leggenda della Ourang Medan ma presta il fianco a diverse illogicità e a una qualità non sempre ottimale, mancando ancora una volta una vera e propria caratterizzazione dei suoi protagonisti. Sebbene la componente horror sia più marcata, non riesce a essere abbastanza incisiva da trasmettere quel terrore che ci aspetteremmo e complice anche la durata condensata in poche ore si presenta un po' frettolosa in alcuni punti. Il finale gode però di un colpo di scena interessante e inaspettato, all'interno di una trama che a tratti si fa prevedibile. In termini di gameplay sono state apportate delle migliorie e introdotti aspetti inediti ma qualche attrito con la narrazione non li rende del tutto funzionali. In generale, sebbene miglior di Man of Medan, Little Hope non si discosta abbastanza dal precedente per considerarlo un vero e proprio cambio di rotta.

The Dark Pictures: Anthology segna un netto calo rispetto a Man of Medan, banalizzando una storia già priva di guizzi e narrata in modo sin troppo sommario e sbrigativo. Ci sono stati dei miglioramenti alla formula di gioco, per quanto riguarda i QTE, ma tutti gli altri elementi della produzione subiscono una brusca frenata che obbliga il prossimo capitolo dell'antologia a fare un'immediata inversione di marcia per risollevare le sorti dell'intero progetto.

The Dark Pictures : Little Hope a pris conscience des difficultés rencontrées par Man of Medan, et tente autant que faire se peut de les corriger avec plus ou moins de réussite. La nouvelle destination, les nouvelles thématiques et le sous-genre horrifique revisité soufflent un vent de fraîcheur sur cette anthologie ce qui n'est pas pour nous déplaire, bien au contraire. Refonte partielle de certaines mécaniques de gameplay et écriture affinée… Supermassive Games n'améliore que partiellement sa formule. L'illusion omniprésente de choix et les évidentes limitations techniques laissent un sentiment d'inachevé une fois l'aventure terminée.
