Tropico 6 brings a lot to the table. It is pretty to look at, easy to get started with, and offers hours of play time with its generous depth and breadth in multiple categories of human life. There are enough play modes to suit most any type of player and enough permutations to satisfy all but the most eclectic leadership style. The player has the latitude to try on any number of disparate political ideologies and constitutional styles and compare results, and can even shift the demographics as the demands of each era come into play. It can be difficult to manage a broad economy and wildly diverse population without getting bogged down with slogging through micromanagement and digging around for revenue and performance reports, but it is nice to have the ability to directly adjust wages to draw employees to jobs you most want/need to have filled. This level of complexity can initially be hard to keep up with, but that’s the life of a dictator - it’s what you signed up for, after all, Comrade.

Tropico 6 overhauls the entire infrastructure, bringing forward most, but not all of the features we had with previous outings. A greater emphasis on transportation and simulation deepens the experience and makes Tropicans feel less like mere numbers. At its heart, Tropico 6 is still a game about building your empire and making it grow, but it’s the small mechanics that create a connection with your benevolent dictator, and help make your anarchy-prone archipelago feel a little like home.

Divertente, addictive da far paura, graficamente piacevole e curato nei minimi dettagli, anche se rimane qualche piccolo errorino di traduzione lasciato qui e là addirittura dai tempi della Beta. Tropico 6 è adatto sia ai cultori della saga che ai neofiti, ai fan della politica e dei city builder; il numero di missioni proposte, insieme alle modalità di gioco, lo rendono sicuramente un gioco longevo e pieno di risvolti diversi, che il giocatore può esplorare tramite le numerose scelte da effettuare in corso d’opera. Le references ai personaggi storici, invece di essere palesi come negli scorsi capitoli, vanno scovate tramite occhiate più attente (e in fondo è più divertente così!), e l’ironia che pervade il gioco aiuta a smontare la grande complessità del gameplay, che richiederà al giocatore una grande capacità di azione e pianificazione. C’è ancora molto lavoro da fare per assicurare stabilità al comparto multiplayer, ma una volta sistemata quella Tropico 6 diventerà praticamente flawless. Consigliato a tutti, soprattutto agli uomini politici. Sempre che non prendano alla lettera quella faccenda della dittatura repressione e sangue…

La de Tropico 6 es una sátira algo gruesa de cómo son las dictaduras en paraísos tropicales, pero que funciona. El nuevo juego de la serie supone la llegada de otro estudio al frente de su desarrollo, y éste deja buenas ideas pero sobre todo hace más compactas algunas de las que hemos visto en algunos de los últimos episodios. Un juego simpático y amable, pero no exento de una cierta profundidad que lo convierte en una opción muy interesante para los fans de la gestión.

Fedele alla tradizione della serie, nei panni di El Presidente ci troveremo a governare il nostro atollo tropicale in un divertente e mai ripetitivo simulatore di dittatore sudamericano. Una costola buffa di Civilization che sa divertire in modo differente dal principale antagonista ma che, comunque, rimarrà relegato nella sua nicchia di appartenenza per via dei suoi limiti endemici. Un piacevole passatempo, da giocare tra una partita di Civilization e l’altra.

Tropico 6 è un degno nuovo capitolo di una serie che, pur rimanendo ai vertici del genere dei gestionali, fatica a proporre novità sostanziali. Limbic ha semplicemente mescolato elementi di Tropico 3, 4 e 5 per provare a offrire qualcosa di nuovo, senza crederci però veramente. Sia chiaro che non ci troviamo di fronte a un brutto gioco, ma solo al classico capitolo di raccordo che tenta di prendere il meglio dai predecessori, senza riuscire ad aggiungere niente di suo. Forse questa timidezza di fondo è il problema maggiore di affidare una serie di lungo corso come quella Tropico a sviluppatori sempre diversi, che schiacciati dalla responsabilità di non scontentare i fan, entrano in punta di piedi in una storia che fino a quel momento non li ha riguardati, senza lasciare alcun segno.

The amount there is to do and the depth of its political mechanics make Tropico 6 stand out over its immediate predecessors. It's a tropical vacation worth taking when you're looking for an in-depth city-builder with strong personality and a touch of humor, which is something of a rarity outside of this long-running series. But drink too deeply of its perplexing economic systems and you may find yourself feeling a bit queasy.

Tropico 6 est toujours un jeu bourré d'humour et qui remonte le moral. Si vous êtes un inconditionnel de la saga, vous ne risquez pas de perdre vos repères puisqu'il s'inscrit dans la continuité logique sans révolutionner le genre. Et c'est d'ailleurs dommage. Le feeling d'avoir affaire à une extension et non à un tout nouveau jeu est prégnant tout le long d'une partie. Seul le changement au niveau du moteur graphique vous donnera l'impression concrète d'être dans la modernité. Pour le reste, ce Tropico mélange bonnes idées et bonnes vieilles recettes que l'on aimerait tout de même voir changer. Cela reste une expérience agréable mais qui manque simplement d'envergure.

Tropico 6 continues to excel in being a series that oozes personality but can struggle in its efforts to be a fairly balanced sim. Its frustrating lack of sometimes easy to understand problems and communication can make for an experience that will cause permanently raised eyebrows. If you're looking for a new city-building sim, you will still enjoy Tropico 6 but at the expense of sometimes being easily confused or having your progression halted.

Tropico 6 is the best entry in the series, though not without its flaws. The repetition of random requests with no real direct relation to how your city is developing is always an irritation to me. The economics of the city is especially well developed, though areas like the superpowers feel tacked on at best. Fortunately, new features like raids help the game stand out from its predecessors.

Il est toujours un plaisir de retrouver l'humour potache, l'ambiance ensoleillée et les mécaniques gentiment immorales de Tropico 6. La présence d'archipels vous contraindra à repenser un peu la manière d'aborder votre partie, au même titre que la gestion réelle de vos habitants, qui devront être à proximité de leur lieu de travail pour faire tourner l'industrie de votre île. Très complet, Tropico 6 n'en reste pas moins un peu trop installé dans sa zone de confort et les quelques nouveautés n'offrent pas de bouleversements suffisamment significatifs pour bousculer les habitudes des vétérans de la franchise. Les nouveaux venus, en revanche, pourront profiter d'un épisode très complet de la saga tandis que les plus gros fans seront sans doute enchantés de profiter des quelques ajustements du jeu et du retour de certaines mécaniques empruntées aux épisodes précédents. Une expérience solide plaisante donc, mais sans révolution.
