Guitar Hero Live va a ser y ya es una revolución. Es el camino que van a seguir otros juegos musicales y que deberían seguir el resto de juegos de otros géneros, es decir, contar con un contenido enorme con el que pasar horas y horas jugando. Activision y FreeStyle Games por tanto dejan de lado el contenido descargable lanzado a posteriori y se centran en mostrar a los usuarios lo que puede llegar a ser un gran juego musical que se irá renovando día a día y seguro que en función de los gustos y canciones más tocadas por los usuarios.

Nos gusta Guitar Hero Live. Sus desarrolladores han hecho una apuesta muy fuerte, pero este negocio es de los valientes. La nueva guitarra ofrece nuevos retos y es un instrumento mucho más realista y agradecido de tocar y de dominar, y el modo GH TV ofrece infinitas posibilidades y horas de juego sin necesidad de pasar por caja. Puede que haya dejado cosas atrás, pero muestra un prometedor camino. Y recuerda, que además de a todas las consolas de esta generación y de la pasada (excepto Wii) enseguida llega a los móviles y a Apple TV. Casi nada.

Guitar Hero Live rappresenta la rinascita con i migliori auspici della serie che ha fatto la storia dei titoli musicali e fa piacere vedere che Activision insieme a FreeStyleGames ce l'abbiano messa tutta per cercare di offrire qualcosa di realmente inedito rispetto al passato. Su questo fronte quindi siamo stati felicemente colpiti dalla nuova chitarra, dall'attenzione al dettaglio per i concerti ripresi dal vivo e per la scelta di allontanarsi dal consueto sistema dei DLC a pagamento per provare nuove strade. Tuttavia è essenziale osservare con attenzione come la TV verrà potenziata in futuro e non siamo pienamente convinti che il pubblico sia pronto per accogliere con gioia un sistema completamente in streaming che impedisce di diventare "proprietari" delle singole canzoni. In conclusione si tratta di un buon inizio ricco di interessanti e promettenti idee, che dovranno però maturare ed essere digerite.

Guitar Hero Live needs a serious name change or a more enthralling “Live” mode, but makes for an otherworldly party game with its pick-up-and-play accessibility. I hope James and Lenny agree when I give Guitar Hero Live 8 out of 10 stars.

Guitar Hero Live is clearly the product of music lovers. Instead of exuding cheesiness like past titles in the franchise, Live is wholly contemporary. From the font, to the controller, to the song selection, down to the gameplay itself, Guitar Hero Live feels fresh, alive and something that’s not embarrassing to have out at a party full of even the snobbiest hipsters. The song selection is impressive, the FMV is well produced and the GHTV concept is incredibly exciting. While there’s still trepidation due the fact that much of its appeal rests on unproven promises and its currency system is needlessly complicated, the idea of new songs being added on a weekly basis could render Guitar Hero Live into a persistent experience for rhythm and music lovers alike. Time will ultimately tell how Guitar Hero Live shapes up, but it’s alluring enough to once again raise your plastic axe to the sky and rejoin the virtual rock god army.

Può risultare difficile giudicare il ritorno di Guitar Hero: da un lato il titolo offre un corposo numero di novità per il panorama dei party game musicali, con una campagna single player non brillante ma impreziosita da sequenze live di sicuro impatto, e con una GHTV che promette ore ed ore di divertimento, nonché una tracklist difficile da eguagliare in termini contenutistici. Dall'altro però il sistema basato sull'utilizzo dei gettoni “Play” potrebbe scontentare non poco i giocatori più hardcore, da sempre impegnati nel domare i pezzi più complessi a suon di tentativi su tentativi, nonché tutti quegli utenti che non apprezzano l'idea di poter semplicemente “affittare” un brano, senza poterlo suonare quando e quante volte si desidera. Bisogna però sottolineare come tale gestione dei contenuti consenta ai programmatori di aggiungere costantemente nuova musica, eliminando di fatto qualsiasi costo aggiuntivo futuro. Ad ogni modo Guitar Hero Live pone sul piatto un numero di novità certamente superiore rispetto alla concorrenza, giustificando con maggiore convinzione la reunion della band Activision: ai fan del genere, così come a tutti quei giocatori alla ricerca di un titolo che elettrizzi serate trascorse in compagnia, non possiamo che consigliarne l'acquisto, tenendo bene in mente però pregi e limiti di una GHTV rivoluzionaria, ma solo a metà.

Guitar Hero Live è sorprendente per molti versi e deludente per altri. La nuova chitarra è interessante e divertente: Freestyle Games ha avuto assolutamente ragione nel voler svecchiare la formula. La sezione single player, però, è davvero priva di mordente, scandita da una tracklist quasi impresentabile per chi cerca del sano rock nudo e crudo e da una struttura di gioco molto esile. La GH TV, d’altro canto, rischia seriamente di creare dipendenza, con il suo catalogo in continua espansione e tutte quelle mancanze in quanto a progressione nella fase GH Live, che qua vengono ampiamente colmate. La perdita della batteria e il fatto di non poter comprare e accedere liberamente ad altre canzoni, però, sono un passo indietro.

Guitar Hero Live mezcla innovación tanto en su guitarra como en su contenido, con fórmulas modernas (que lo acercan peligrosamente al modo Free To Play) para administrar su potente lista total de canciones. Hay suficientes motivos para permanecer enredado en sus cuerdas durante mucho tiempo, mientras que no dudamos que los futuros meses irán acompañados de más repertorio musical. Trying to be all things to all people is often problematic, but a game of this type probably has very little option. How else do you appeal to the greatest number of people? Reduce the price and just sell track packs, allowing players to decide which direction they want to go? Perhaps, but some of the most enjoyable tracks to play on GH games have come from unexpected places. Indeed, Katy Perry’s ‘Waking Up In Vegas’ is far more fun to play than much of the angsty white-boy rock to be found here. While Rock Band‘s return feels like a remastered special edition, GH should be commended for trying something new. In hardware terms it’s entirely successful and while it means buying new guitars, the changes are a resounding success. While we have some reservations about the songs chosen by Freestyle Games to appear on Guitar Hero Live, its GHTV mode should provide the longevity that normally only DLC can provide, especially if new songs are added as often as promised. Considering that’s all free, it makes the initial price tag easier to swallow, and the lack of any meaningful local multiplayer a little less important.

Si vous voulez découvrir sous un jour nouveau les jeux de rythme, difficile de ne pas vous recommander (chaudement) Guitar Hero Live qui réinvente avec audace l'approche que l'on se fait du genre. Avec sa manette 6 frettes offrant des sensations excellentes et sa Guitar Hero TV franchement addicitive proposant 200 morceaux et qui devrait s'étoffer régulièrement, autant dire que de longues heures de musique s'offrent d'ores et déjà à vous. Toutefois, nous déplorerons le fait que quel que soit l'argent que vous dépenserez dans le catalogue de la TV, jamais vous n'obtiendrez un morceau définitivement. Si le joueur occasionnel et même assidu n'aura pas à passer à la caisse pour jouer régulièrement et sans jamais se restreindre, les joueurs les plus acharnés désireux de tout passer en expert ont de fortes chances de troquer leur patience contre des espèces sonnantes et trébuchantes. Quoi qu'il en soit sachez qu'au cours de nos longues sessions de jeu, rien n'est venu ternir notre enthousiasme à pratiquer le titre, sans que l'on se restreigne pour autant à dépenser des jetons pour jouer nos morceaux favoris. Gageons qu'il en soit de même sur le très long terme.

In many ways my experience with Guitar Hero Live can be summed up by the chorus from Faith No More’s Epic: “You want it all but you can’t have it.” No matter how much currency, real or virtual, you pump in, you’ll never actually own any of its growing library of songs beyond the 42 included on the disc. Yet, this restriction has in no way inhibited the fun I’ve had with it so far. The new guitar makes a tangible improvement to how you experience each and every riff and lick, and GHTV provides an almost irresistible service for enjoying tracks you love while discovering new ones, with absolutely nothing hidden behind a paywall. Guitar Hero Live might not return the series to the heights of its heyday, but it’s definitely the freshest and boldest Guitar Hero game in a very long time.

Guitar Hero Live a pris des risques. Revisiter le gameplay, inventer un mode attractif (GHTV), offrir des lives plus vrais que nature, le titre d’Activision innove dans un style assez concluant. Une refonte qui n’est malheureusement pour lui pas sans heurts tant la navigation reste brouillonne et les nouveaux instruments assez bas de gamme. Si vous êtes plus dans la confrontation, le scoring et les battles, Guitar Hero Live est fait pour vous. En revanche, si pour vous jouer aux jeux musicaux demeure plus un moment de détente à partager entre amis, Rock Band 4 parait être plus approprié.
