Fire Emblem Warriors pays tribute to the most recent 3DS titles that helped the series take off in recent years. While it would have been more varied if they had included more than just a handful of characters from older entries, it still creates an enjoyable action packed spin-off for new and old Fire Emblem fans alike. Fire Emblem Warriors is an easy title to pick up and play at any time, regardless if just doing one mission or sitting down to grind for a full session. Whether a fan of the series or just looking for another title to play with friends, Fire Emblem Warriors makes for a great time with plenty of content to keep players coming back for more of its perfectly-captured action.

Per fortuna Fire Emblem Warriors non è il classico musou che stanca e annoia dopo un paio d’ore. È anzi un hack’n’slash sempre abbonato al button mashing ma con inserti di tattica e strategie tutt’altro che banali che lo rendono apprezzabile anche agli occhi di un pubblico (come quello nostrano) mai troppo innamorato di questo genere. Alla fine l’ho preferito anche a Hyrule Warriors e nonostante qualche lungaggine di troppo contro i boss e un roster di personaggi troppo concentrato sugli ultimi due capitoli della saga, ho finalmente trovato un musou che mi ha appassionato… e fino a pochi giorni fa non l’avrei mai detto.

Fire Emblem Warriors è una gradevolissima aggiunta nella libreria autunnale di Nintendo Switch, e va a porsi non solo come un notevole esponente del genere dei Musou, ma anche come un perfettamente riuscito spin-off di Fire Emblem, di cui eredita non solo i personaggi ma anche alcune interessanti meccaniche. Una storia di grande intrattenimento ed una serie di modalità extra contenutisticamente eccellenti fanno di questo titolo un ottimo hack ‘n’ slash, con un gameplay frenetico e tantissimi personaggi selezionabili (senza contare i futuri DLC). Il tutto è supportato da un impianto tecnologico e grafico piacevole e funzionale, che ci ha regalato alcuni dei momenti più iconici del recente passato di Fire Emblem in una veste tutta nuova. Fire Emblem Warriors è un grande sì, insomma.

The malleable quality of Fire Emblem’s weapons-triangle and pairing systems make them a natural fit for the hack n’ slash genre. Even when I could barely tell what was going on on the crowded battlefield and my troops were a little too codependent, I enjoyed directing the action and jumping in to be part of the carnage. And while Fire Emblem Warriors makes poor use of the Fire Emblem universe’s story and history, we still get traces of the relationships between the characters that make it memorable.

Three Hopes is one of the best musou spin-offs released to date, combining its tried-and-tested gameplay with a level of story depth that was missing in the first Fire Emblem Warriors. Its sheer scope may be a bit much for players simply looking for a hack-and-slash action game, though.

Despite my grievances, I still think Fire Emblem Warriors is a great game. It's strategic, it's fast-paced, it's frantic and fun. Even if it doesn't quite reach the heights that Hyrule Warriors left on the Wii U and the 3DS, Fire Emblem Warriors is still a title that Switch owners would be remiss to lose out on.

Fire Emblem Warriors est un croisement entre un jeu de la série des Warriors, jeux d'action purs et durs, et Fire Emblem, une série de RPG made in Nintendo. Si la partie Musô est clairement réussie avec des combats dynamiques bien que répétitifs, Fire Emblem vient vraiment mettre son grain de sel en ajoutant de nombreuses fonctionnalités tirées du T-RPG, comme un aspect stratégique accru lors des batailles, et une préparation et une customisation poussées. Le mariage est une réussite, et on prendra plaisir à écumer les champs de batailles de ce Fire Emblem Warriors durant les nombreuses heures de jeu qu'il aura à offrir, que ce soit seul ou avec un ami en mode local splitté. Et si, malgré tout, le Musô n'est pas votre tasse de thé, enlevez un point à cette note.

Le système d'armement et le triangle des armes de Fire Emblem en font un prétendant naturel pour le genre hack n' slash. Même quand je pouvais à peine dire ce qui se passer sur un champ de bataille bourré d'ennemis, et que mes troupes étaient un peu trop co-dépendante, j'ai aimé diriger l'action et débarquer pour faire un carnage. Et si Fire Emblem Warriors est paresseux quant à son scénario, on peut toujours compter sur ses personnages pour rendre le résultat final mémorable.

Fire Emblem Warriors non è né un semplice clone di Hyrule Warriors né un hack'n'slash senza cervello, ma una nuova interpretazione strategica del tanto vituperato genere musou che si sposa meravigliosamente col brand di Intelligent Systems, offrendo una bella dose di fanservice e decine di ore di gioco. Chiaramente sconsigliato a chi i musou non li può proprio vedere, lo suggeriamo invece ai fan di Fire Emblem che vogliono provare qualcosa di diverso dai combattimenti tattici a turni e a chiunque cerchi un buon gioco d'azione per la sua nuova console Nintendo.

Fire Emblem Warriors è un ottimo musou, il più interessante attualmente presente su Nintendo Switch. Offre un parco di personaggi numeroso e variegato, sia nelle mosse che nel bilanciamento, nonché diversi elementi di strategia innovativi per il genere di appartenenza, provenienti anche loro dai prodotti di Intelligent Systems. Se siete fan del genere e guardate con interesse al carisma dei personaggi di Fire Emblem, l’acquisto sicuramente non vi deluderà. Se invece i musou non vi convincono, non acquistate il titolo solo perché presenta personaggi a voi noti: non è un Fire Emblem classico. Tutti gli altri possono tranquillamente aspettare un taglio di prezzo.

Fire Emblem Warriors is a very fun game marred by a only few issues, some of which were probably unavoidable. The basic hack-and-slash gameplay is as solid and polished as any Warriors game, and the new innovations based on the Fire Emblem series add a lot. The game honestly feels like Fire Emblem almost as much as it feels like a Warriors game. If you’re a classic Fire Emblem fan like me, don’t let the roster keep you from buying the game. If you like Dynasty Warriors but don’t know Fire Emblem, there’s still plenty to enjoy here.

Despite all the complaints though, I can’t help but recommend Fire Emblem Warriors to Warriors fans. If you enjoyed Hyrule Warriors, you’ll enjoy this just as much, and if you’re not really a Warriors fan, then this probably won’t convince you, even if you adore Fire Emblem.

Auf den ersten Blick scheint die Verbindung der taktisch geprägten Rundenkämpfe aus Fire Emblem sowie dem leicht monotonen Hack & Slay von Tecmo Koeis Warriors-Spielen noch abwegiger als bei Hyrule Warriors vor drei Jahren auf Wii U. Doch vor allem mit Dragon Quest Heroes 2 hat Omega Force bewiesen, dass taktische Vorbilder und die so genannte Musou-Action sich nicht ausschließen müssen. Und das funktioniert auch hier, zumal erneut gilt, dass die seit 1997 Massenprügler entwickelnden Macher mit neuen Franchises auch neue Risiken eingehen. So können Figuren tatsächlich dauerhaft aus dem Spiel genommen werden, während die taktischen Ursprünge der Serie immer wieder durchscheinen. Sei es mit der Option, seinen Helden Befehle geben zu können, um bestimmte Positionen einzunehmen oder Gegner auszuschalten oder mit den Sympathiewerten, die allerdings größtenteils kosmetisch genutzt werden. Doch letztlich entfernt sich Fire Emblem Warriors nur kaum von seinem bewährten 1-gegen-Tausend-Prinzip, reichert es aber um interessante Elemente an. Leider bleibt man in anderen Bereichen wie der Festungseroberung oder dem zu niedrigen Schwierigkeitsgrad hinter den Standards anderer Musou-Spiele zurück. Doch gute sowie unkomplizierte Hack&Slay-Action vor dem visuellen sowie erzählerischen Hintergrund der Fire-Emblem-Serie bekommt man hier auf jeden Fall. Und als nächstes dann bitte die Mushroom Kingdom Warriors…

Fire Emblem Warriors es la última muestra de que la unión entre Nintendo, Omega Force y Team Ninja a la hora de llevar sagas importantes al terreno del musou fue todo un acierto. Nadie como ellos para exportar dicho género a uno de los más icónicos RPG estratégicos de todos los tiempos. Fire Emblem Warriors nos ofrece un musou en toda regla con los toques de identidad y los personajes de Fire Emblem. Y lo hace en perfecta armonía. Llega, además, repleto de contenido con un gran Modo Historia y el Modo Crónicas que nos darán horas de diversión en batallas multitudinarias. Y lo hace, para rematar la faena, con un apartado artístico, técnico y sonoro de gran calibre. Si eres fan de la saga, no te lo puedes perder. Y si no lo eres, quizás deberías darle una oportunidad.

Loin d'avoir fait lever les foules lors de son annonce, Fire Emblem Warriors suit les traces de son frangin Hyrule et décoche un uppercut. S'il est toujours question de foncer à travers des environnements à l'apparence vieillotte, l'impact qui se dégage des combats mérite vraiment le "sacrifice" de pad. Subtil mélange d'action et de stratégie, le jeu ne manque pas de brosser les fans dans le sens du poil et parvient à s'acoquiner avec la série de Nintendo sans choquer. Techniquement correct, surtout en mode nomade, ce cross over vient allonger la liste des Musô avec une aventure au moins aussi agréable que ce bon vieux Hyrule Warriors. Le charme en moins peut-être.

Mettiamo le cose in chiaro: Fire Emblem Warriors è un musou nella media, se non leggermente superiore. Più vicino ad Hyrule Warriors rispetto ad altri esponenti della scuderia Koei Tecmo, il gioco ne replica la struttura senza stravolgimenti sensibili, ma si esibisce in una forma tecnica migliore e, cortesia dell’ibridismo di Switch, affianca alla sua natura domestica una seconda anima portatile più che soddisfacente. Il titolo però si ferma lì, nella solita ricetta hack’n’slash maleducata e ipercinetica di cui, in fondo, sia i fan che i detrattori conoscono alla perfezione tutti i pregi e i difetti congeniti. Se l’impressione è che il prodotto possa accontentare i fedeli alla formula in sé e per sé, d’altro canto fatichiamo a trovarne elementi di reale interesse per chi invece arrivasse senza mediazioni dalla serie medievaleggiante di Nintendo e Intelligent Systems. Salvo la partecipazione di tanti beniamini del franchise, le soluzioni a tema Fire Emblem pensate per avvicinare i due gameplay, infatti, risultano pressoché impalpabili. Un vero peccato: se sfruttate in modo meno superficiale, avrebbero portato di sicuro l’esperienza ad essere più in linea coi suoi riferimenti di matrice tattica, nei limiti del possibile. Sarebbe stata, per lo meno, un tantino più appetibile per gli strateghi incuriositi da un’operazione di questo tipo.

While the Dynasty Warriors style of gameplay appropriately sits front and center in Fire Emblem Warriors, the lack of genre melding with an RPG is disappointing. Players will enter into each battle with plenty of chances to smash buttons and oggle at Fire Emblem characters destroying one another, but the heart of the tactical RPG franchise doesn’t make a proper appearance. Too bad, too, because this might have been a wasted opportunity to really experiment with the musou genre.
