Predator: Hunting Grounds manages to serve up exactly what it advertises – a CoD-lite shooter experience that is routinely interrupted by a seven-foot-tall alien murder machine. Playing as the murder machine is as fun as you would expect it to be – however playing as Sgt. BUCK STEELGIRDER can be a little dull when your murderous space playmate is absent. Thankfully, the game has enough passion and charm within it to convince me to stick around and see where the developers take it moving forward.

Predator: Hunting Grounds occasionally offers a satisfying and violent asymmetrical multiplayer showdown, but doesn't look or play well while doing so. Hardcore fans of the series might get some value out of this title, if they're patient enough to wait in the long matchmaking queues.

Predator: Hunting Grounds è un videogioco multiplayer online asimmetrico. Di buono sul suo conto leggerete appunto soltanto queste quattro parole altisonanti: videogioco multiplayer online asimmetrico. Tutto il resto lascia a desiderare, dal comparto tecnico a quello grafico, dal bilanciamento del gameplay ai contenuti secondari assenti, dalle mappe di gioco che sono tre ma in realtà sempre la stessa con variazioni impercepibili. Sarebbe interessante impersonare il Predator, con relative abilità e potenzialità: ma una singola goccia d'acqua nel mare si perde facilmente. A meno che non amiate alla follia quella goccia e vogliate inseguirla a tutti i costi: allora preparatevi a spendere quaranta euro e buona fortuna.

Sans grande surprise, Predator : Hunting Grounds est avant tout une production s'adressant exclusivement aux fans de la saga cinématographique. Il se contente donc du minimum syndical pour mettre en place son seul et unique mode de jeu opposant quatre commandos à la célèbre créature. C'est d'autant plus dommageable puisque la production apporte avec elle un arsenal complet et de petites idées plus que bienvenues, comme enduire de boue son soldat et une coopération poussée. Mais malheureusement, il ne suffit pas de faire du fan service de qualité et d'amener quelques idées ici et là pour offrir aux joueurs une production digne de ce nom. Espérons que le jeu s'améliorera en proposant par exemple des cartes plus variées et en optimisant la formule : équilibrage, fluidité de jeu. En attendant, nous préférons relancer une partie de Friday The 13th : The Video Game, qui malgré ses nombreux défauts, proposait une meilleure expérience de jeu.

IllFonic avrebbe potuto regalarci la migliore esperienza di gioco dedicata al cacciatore alieno, ma il team ha sprecato la sua occasione. Predator: Hunting Grounds è un gioco costellato di problemi, non solo sul fronte tecnico, ma anche – e soprattutto – per quanto concerne le scelte di design alla base di questo multiplayer asimmetrico. Evidenti problemi di bilanciamento e un gameplay mediocre rischiano di scoraggiare i giocatori meno esperti e di allontanare coloro che, nonostante tutto, hanno trovato nel Predator un divertente compagno di giochi. Chissà, magari ci penserà il buon Schwarzenegger a salvare la missione, un giorno.

Senza girarci intorno, Predator: Hunting Ground non è il gioco che un franchise come questo meriterebbe. Il gameplay risulta spesso sbilanciato e, più in generale, riesce a scendere nel ripetitivo entro poche ore dal primo avvio. Il comparto tecnico decisamente arretrato, la penuria di contenuti disponibili attualmente, uniti ad un prezzo di vendita decisamente esagerato ( parliamo di 39,99€) non posso far altro che affossare il nostro giudizio finale. Speriamo che i ragazzi di Illfonic ci mettano al più presto una pezza.
